Truly the queen of Japanese apartment upgrades

"If everyone is ripped off, no-one is" The Japanese moving industry
-
The, "No, no, no don't talk to me." I wholly felt that
-
I'm self employed, and anytime I've mentioned it to a real estate agent, you would think, that had I told them that I make macaroni pictures in my spare room, when I'm actually a construction contractor π
-
It is technically not legal in Japan to specifically discriminate against foreigners on housing. The place I currently live had a "no foreigners" clause, but the realtor who I worked with was an awesome Japanese guy who basically said "that's bullshit, we're just going to ignore them". Shoutout to Aoyama-san!

Went from βI canβt stretch my armsβ to βSO MUCH ROOM FOR ACTIVITIESβ

Your journey in japan is incredible. From a tiny apartment to a big apartment.
-
I was never so excited for somebody else to get approved for an appartment. XD

The intense joy at finally having certain creature comforts that seem normal for other people is such a mood. I also recently moved and just having your own kitchen with the surface area to be able to cut your veggies and stack dishes without having to do weird quantum puzzles is such an amazing feeling. Having a normal shower to yourself, having the space to store all your belongings and not have half your life stacked up in boxes... I can't remember the last time I felt so elated.
-
Ahh so happy for you!! π
-
I've never felt so much sympathetic stress before. You're one tough lady, Emma.
-
Hey Emma, as a fellow sufferer of phone call anxiety, I have a tip for you in regards to this specific type of phone call, just write down everything important, like any important info you might anticipate you will be asked, have it safe in a notebook somewhere that you know you can grab and rattle off the answers to their questions.

Just the office is several times bigger than the apartment that first got me to subscribe :-) Congratulations!
