In this video I give a behind the scenes look at how I go about my street photography while out on a photo walk. This was my first time visiting Manchester and while I only scratched the surface I came away with a handful of shots I'm really happy with.

  • YouTube suggested you, I subscribed on the first video. Now you are being promoted all over my feed. I thought I was a bit of a street photographer. I’m not even out of the gate compared to you. I’m not binge watching because there is simply too much valuable information in each video to mémorise. LOVE the way you present, explain and speak in such a calm unexaggerated way. Brilliant

Your calm demeanor is inspiring! When I see a good chance opportunity, I sometimes panic and fumble it, trying too hard. I like your chilled out approach.
  • @GeorgeHolden
Love this approach for a POV and your live insights, very refreshing and great shots of Manny!

Always interesting to see what other photographers make of my home city. Of course you can find stories everywhere, but I feel I could work this city every weekend for the rest of my life and never come away from a photo walk completely empty-handed.

I went into Manchester a couple of months ago, making the most of that mini heatwave to try my first ever bit of street photography, I felt a bit self conscious but enjoyed myself.

Really enjoyed this Tim, your commentary is really interesting and I love how you can make what some might call ugly into intriguing with your knack for colour and composition, well done!

As a photographer (but not street) and having worked in central Manchest for 15 years I really enjoyed your shots and noting how the place looks since I left the area in 1985. An excellent video.
  • @photoautomax
Great video as ever Tim! Really useful to hear the thought process, how the weather changes what you’re looking for, and the little nods to your previous lesson-type videos. Thanks yet again!
  • What a great video Tim. I enjoy hearing your thought processes about the shots. So useful.
  • @CourtneyG.
Really enjoyed (as ever), Tim! Such a diverse range of shots. Particular fave was the phone box around 6 minutes, and seeing your thought process to hold the right subject.

I really like this style of video. You have shown us several different techniques to use, in good light and not so good, which is super helpful. Your images are some of the best out there right now, imho. Thanks Tim.

Hey Tim, thanks for sharing your thought process. They’re really helpful! One question - for the shots with strong emphasis on shadows, do you use spot metering instead of multi?
