Looks to me like a failure in the variable pitch propellers. That would explain the sudden loss of forward momentum.

Claramente el avión ATR 72 cae fuera de control, sin velocidad horizontal. Lo más probable es una entrada en pérdida seguida de una barrena por acumulación de hielo sobre las alas (Considerando la meteorología y la tendencia a acumular hielo de esta aeronave). Lamentable que no se haya logrado recuperar de la pérdida siendo que se dió a 17000 pies ( aprox 5182 metros). Dada la altitud de inicio de la caída, descarto Windshear.. No hay sobrevivientes. Lamentable!-.

Absolutely horrifying for those people on board 💔🙏🏻🙏🏻 But also.. how did these people just stand there.. phone in hand filming instead of grabbing a hose?!! I don’t care if the damage was done etc.. human decency is lost since the smart phone was invented!! People no longer rush to help in anyway they can.. instead want likes on their social media 💔
