  • I designed my side wings in my studio, a good friend of mine built them ,but it looks like a solid build👋

I was thinking about something like this but in the end I cut some wood sticks and extended the legs so the screens are perfectly placed like a monitor . I also angle the 2 side units like the uc1 and uf1 so i have maximum visibility of all the controls. This is really cool though.

FIY, Buso Audio makes custom desks for the controllers. Ordered mine and getting it delivered in 2 weeks. Just a tip for those whom are looking for something more advanced then just a desk stand thing.

Morning Dave - the SSL desk looks mega clean - do you do you your own dusting ? 😀

Very nice. But my problem with studio furniture of any kind, not just these units, is the cost. I can go out to my shed and build my own in a morning for a fraction of the cost. MixEnds are at least solid wood and nicely hand finished. But most of the big names in studio desks are made from plywood or mdf which doesn’t justify the cost. For example, a few years ago I investigated getting an Argosy desk. The cost was going to be around £6000 to get one in the UK. So I spend hours studying their plans and assembly guides and designed my own custom version. Ended up costing a tenth of a real Argosy and is every bit as solid and well constructed. So that leaves me with over £5K for other studio gear. I know it’s not for everyone, but if you have a bit of diy skill I seriously recommend that route over pre-built stuff.

Wow, just what I need. Problem is, I just purchased the polycarbonate covers for my three SSL Controllers. I emailed MixEnds to ask if the covers will fit. Hope so!

Hi Dave, I have a question. I have the bundle from of Slate and SSL monthly subscription. Been using Slate many years and I am new to SSL products. The software is installed and I am trying to get the SSL plugins to work with Studio Pro 6 I did set up Mackie as my Controller . But I notice I can not complete the setup and I cannot find any information if I have to purchase the SSL UF1 to activate Studio One with the 360 plugin to use the plugins? Could you please let me know. Thanks!
  • Me too... but the website doesn't seem to have any kind of pricing. How much are we talking for the 3 bay SSL version?

    Uh oh I’m feeling a big G.A.S. Pain coming on….. 😮
  • @garyjostone
Really nicely done. But WAY too expensive. Nearly $700 after shipping. Nope.
  • @greg8706
Very nice. I like how it’s somewhat portable and plug and play with one power connector and one USB. Question: How do you use this with your Origin workflow? I have a SSL 4K console and can see this being awesome side desk to the console with computer monitor. SSL just added custom mapping for third party plugins to their 360 software. This has me reconsidering my workflow due to this major update.
