Around California I found a joshua tree, in the middle of the desert near Nevada, with a metal plate on its base that said: "Have you found what you're looking for?"

The message of this song (like I saw in another comment section and highly agree with): sometimes we're not supposed to find what we're looking for; what we're looking for finds us.

Im shocked this song doesn't have more comments. One of the best songs of the 80 for sure!

U2 will always be able to raise emotions with their music, it is excellent. This album being the penultimate of the the three greatest albums in a row. 1. Unforgettable Fire, 2. The Joshua Tree, and 3. Achtung Baby. You can listen to all 3 in a row and not want to fast forward anything. They were (and still are, in my opinion) the greatest song writers and performers of the time. I hope the keep performing until they just can't do it anymore. It will be a loss for everyone when they retire.
