Insane that this early version still has the awesome guitar solo!

there is an all Elliott studio version of this track that appears on my benefit concept album "Live From Nowhere Near You Volume 2" which gives profits to the homeless charity that was just down the street from the high school that Elliott and I went to in Portland OR. THIS version is the original high school version that he did with Garrick Duckler as Stranger Than Fiction. When we released the LFNNY2 album, there was a code in the artwork which would give you this version as a download. I can't post it here but if you search the internet there is a letter from Garrick and myself (two different writings) talking about and giving more info on this track and that whole time period. First time listening to this compared to the later recorded version... thought that he embellished the song and the guitar solo on the later recorded version, only to find out it’s pretty much the same. And that he wrote this when he was only in high school. I am truly dumbfounded. One of a kind.

SteliosHolmes, I don't know how busy you are... but I sure would appreciate more songs from "menagerie." I'm a huge Elliott Smith fan, and am really impressed with the quality of this early work... which I hadn't heard before, though I've heard the new version. anyway, thanks for sharing
