I asked chatgp to who should I watch for learning blender and it's recommended you. Loving so far ❤

To me the big thing will be when image based AI generation gets turned toward 3d modeling.
  • You have some really good acting skill for acting around 3D objects that don't exist for you at the time.
  • 5:06 - No because not every one have a specific object to scan, not every model exist in our world such as monster characters etc. and still those scanned models need to be optimised for gamedev
  • why should it kill 3D modelling? XD that makes no sense because in 3D modelling you can just model everything, with 3D Scan you can only scan what exist XD

With the invention of the camera, painters didn't give up their palettes and canvases, did they? Similarly, I think 3d scanner will make the same contribution to CGI, just as photography changes the way of seeing and contributes to the art of painting (It was possible to record movements that were too fast for the eye to follow thanks to camera and photos: For example, thanks to a series of photographs taken by the Englishman Eadweard Muybridge, it became clear that the leg movements of horses depicted up to that time were incorrectly drawn) 📷🔄🎨

I’m happy to see 3D scanning technology begin to become much more effective and accessible to the average consumer and especially for content creators like us. Nice job on your review of this product. I may give it a try once I get back into playing around with 3D.
  • At first I was rewinding and watching that scene with falling objects at first 30 seconds and was strongly amazed by it's details! You've even added really precise moving mask at your arm and scanner! I'm impressed by attention and work you're putting in your videos!👏👏👏

This video feels like it has got only sponsor block without actual content

If all you do is recreating physically available objects. Then yes. 3D scanners can come to replace 3D modeling. Just like how photography replaces drawing and painting. :)
  • @starsheart32
As a 3D artist I can see this being really cool for sculpts for rendering, or references for modeling. The topology is just too bad to apply to any sense than other than the above, which has its limited uses. Good base for a retopology for people who do this as a job. Good base for reference for people who do this as a job/hobby. Interesting.

1 million plus subscribers! Wow! I remember when you were blender Steve doing your thing. Love it!
  • @NaliTikva
Something poetic about doing this to a Woody and Buzz. Woody and Buzz where original 3D models, from the first big computer animation movie. Then some real life toys got made of them, now the toys getting scanned and turned into 3D models. They came full circle.
  • @HarnaiDigital
"Back to the Multiverse" on his shirt. Is this a Reference to a Multiversal crossover on his channel about all Blender Teachers. I can't wait for that if that's true. LOL Great product though Steve.
  • Ok I don't think 3d scanning will replace 3d modling because u can only scan already existing objects. But modling can make any thing
  • @sp5147
On his tshirt, Back to the Multiverse 👍
  • @zeroy
The end result you show here seems very low compared to say RealityCapture which uses just a regular iphone. What kind of polycount did you end up with on the Woody or buzz for instance?
  • @krissosful
    Great review, thanks for sharing👋👋
  • I’ve seen something like this used to scan fossils, it was pretty cool. It’s a nice invention honestly, I think if you want quick stuff to mess around with or want 3D scans of things like those models, this seems fun to mess with and has a genuinely useful niche for some preservation/study.
