Umling La is the highest motorable pass in the world, tucked into the Himalayas in northern India. Team CTXP sets out from a few hundred feet above sea level in Delhi in the hopes that they can overcome rainstorms, washed-out roads, and oxygen deprivation to make it to more than 19,000 feet. Will Zack and Spurg conquer the highest road in the world?

So, you guys were from RevZilla! I'm the rider who informed you about the alternate route. I'm delighted to be featured in your video

This is growing to be the Grand Tour of the motorcycle world.
  • @PiXimperfect
Was here for the review, stayed for the documentary, and finished the video feeling incredibly inspired, breathtaking work!

I did this ride earlier in August. You may go anywhere in your life but you'll always remember Ladakh. Having said that, I've done this ride on my Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 and several other riders did this on smaller 200s. The triumphs are obviously capable of this and more!

For those wondering, BRO refers to border roads organisation which builds the roads to those amazing places.

These are no longer just YouTube videos…these are documentaries with how well put together and captivating it is! Very well done these are the trips I dream of!

I remember a friend and I were in Oregon and heading towards Reno. We got within 30 miles of Reno when a wildfire shut down Hwy 395. No biggie, we will make a detour to I80, or so we thought. The fire spread and shut down all routes to interstate 80. We initially tried to brave the off road path, but it was talcum powder, and neither my sportbike, nor his cruiser were gonna make it that way. We ended up having to turn around and go BACK up 395, cross into Nevada in the northern border, then drop back down on a 400 mile detour. Buddy dumped the bike on a blind corner in the middle of the night (he and the bike were both ok), not a single car the whole way, but we finally pulled into Reno in the early morning after about 17hrs of riding. While I wasnt happy at the time, it made some of my best motorcycling memories, and I wouldnt change it for the world.

Indian riding conditions are most of the times weird but the rewards are exponentially higher when one survive those challenges. We grow as a individual and start appreciating the oneness. Thanks for showing this part of Indian to the world. Love from Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand, India😊❤.

41:15 In case anyone is wondering what was written in the Devanagari script, it's a Sanskrit Phrase, "shramena sarvam sadhyam" meaning "everything is achievable through hardwork".
  • @arkaghosh2857
These dudes did the entire trip with open face helmets and no riding pants or leg guards. Props to them.
  • @catmate8358
40 minutes passed as if I were riding the Himalaya myself. Awesome job dudes, just awesome. Thank you for your service to motorbiking humanity :)

I’m sure I can’t have been the only one to need a conversion. 19,000 feet is about 5.8km. Straight up! Wow.

In case anyone is wondering, BRO stands for Border Road Organization in India. It is Engineered and maintained by the Army as it is in a sensitive zone.
  • @rujaquar1
Thank you for coming to India and showcasing one of the most incredible roads in the world, not to mention the highest. The documentary was brilliantly made, and both riders showcased impressive skills. This is one of the best Moto documentaries I've seen in a while. Congratulations to everyone involved in its creation. I hope you all had a fantastic day in India.
  • @benellib7655
I’ve watched this twice now, once solo and a second time with my father who got teary eyed at the end. Phenomenal content what an adventure! Inspiring for all riders, thank you for this gem.
  • Huge props to the crew involved in this! It's easy to forget that the videographers following this amazing journey were probably almost as tired and cold as our two heroes in front of the camera.
  • @Bacender
Shame Ari wasn’t here but Spurgeon was a nice surprise! Common Tread is the only motorcycle content that my wife will watch with me. Would love to see Spurge, Zack, and Ari on the next trip.
