God bless you John Kunz. You are going to single-handely lift ordinary folks into Houdini Heaven. Here in Nigeria, every CG nerd is hooked to your channel

Only at 25:00 and damn! New to houdini, about a week of exploration and you make me want to close my file (haha). These videos are bad ass, I learn a lot . Big thanks for sharing.

Wow, this is very nice ! Thank you so much. I thought at first : what 2 hours tutorial... omg it will never end. But I have to say you give very good information. Really helpful and the way you explain, I just understand a little bit more of the VOP interaction. Thank you so much ! You mention at the end of the presentation about the wavy moving fog that you can save this out as a sequence of vdb file. I wouldn't know how to do this and how to make use of this way. If you may give me some explanation about this it will be very appreciated.

🀯🀯🀯 3 years later, still a tone of value in your videos. Thanx a lot. I use Linux Fedora and I wonder if you too incountered a problem with Redshift licensing? Like, the license can't be retrieved at each time I reboot the computer, so I need to release it and reapply it again.

You can simply use an Object Merge instead of duplicating the VolumeVop node, this allows you to adjust parameters without having to redo the loop after each modification.
  • Hey John, this was great (catching up on this stream really late : ) ). I wanted to ask how did you link the lights to the points in your scene. Is that using like the point position and a normal and then using that with expressions to drive the orientation of the light? Amazing stuff as always :)
  • Just found your channel and I'm so overwhelmed by the amount of high-quality information you upload here. You deserve a Nobel prize for this. Thank you a lot. If I can share another creator with you, that you might find useful, then that would be Junichiro Horikawa. Edit: Would it be possible to upload the footage without the music? I'm watching it sped up so it's all bit too much sometimes haha. Also at 1:12:05, you can drag the value you want to reference. I find it a lot quicker than clicking.
  • @AkshayAsarkar
Amazing as always! I would suggest to lower the background music a bit. Sometimes it felt like you are going too fast with your setup without giving much needed explanations, especially to noob like me! but otherwise it was awesome !

Hi can you make a video about fog planes like they show in quixel rebirth project?
