First ever shark catch!

I want to start with the fact that I am overwhelmingly grateful for the fishermen who was fishing about 30 yards to the right of me who ran over to film this catch and then was gracious enough to airdrop this footage to my iPhone. Thanks for being a real one! This shark was caught on a 9’ Penn Battle III spinning combo with 50# braid and my homemade state approved shark leader. This animal was released and it swam off strong to grow big in our coastal waters. I was using chunk pinfish that I had caught just that very same morning. I walked out about 40 yards into the mouth of the pass with an incoming tide and was able to cast that rig out about an additional 40+ yards into deeper water. That bait soaked for maybe 45min max. I had several long runs that day and was unsuccessful at a hookset. This guy hit like a freight train and didn’t stop until he was brought in. Even with the drag locked down, it was pulling drag like nobody’s business. I hope you enjoy this footage as much as I enjoyed my first shark catch and release experience. Tight lines!
