We found SILVER TREASURES metal detecting in Scotland

Published 2024-07-20
One of the best metal detecting days we’ve had in Scotland this year.

A coin on the first hole and then the silver treasures just kept on coming! The XP DEUS 2 metal detector is one of the best on the market whether you are a beginner or an experienced detectorist, this machine is great at sniffing out treasure.

To find one piece of silver treasure in a day is something but to find one after another after another is a spectacular day of treasure hunting.

Don’t miss this fantastic day of silver treasure and make sure you subscribe to the channel if you haven’t already!

  • Excellent John - The spoon hallmark is an easy one; George Adams, London with the Leopard Head, 1848 and Queen Vic to say the duty has been paid on it Well done!

  • Good to see Pete with you today. Good finds for both of you.😊

My best guess for the spoon would be: Assay mark for London with the date letter of 1848, I believe the maker is Chawner & Co (George William Adams). He worked from 1840 to 1884 in Hosier Lane, Smithfield, London.

That’s a griffin. You can see its lions head. I think it’s a petroleum advertisement token. 22:44
  • Cheers for the upload John, was needing something to watch after the golf!. Cheers
  • John, Could the "thimble" actually be a cane tip? A walking stick? Might explain the iron on it. And the iron on the lip, a pin to hold it to the shaft.
  • I have been watching your videos almost since the beginning , you do an EXCELLENT job! Very entertaining! My family and I were ready to visit Scotland right at the time of the pandemic. Now things have gotten a bit complicated but we still dreaming of a visit there in the future. Based on your comments, you give tours. Have you ever thought to offer tours of Edinburgh and combined with some metal detecting escapades ? Again, congratulations for your very entertaining ( and educational ) videos !
