This gives off a heavy Cod Ghosts feel with a hint of Infinite Warfare. Not really sure how to describe it. Hopefully we see Devil's Brigade someday.

why is the leak timed so perfectly right after 1900 devs were sacked by Microsoft. HMMMMM??
  • @hamstriker5383
Fun fact: the acronym nx1 would be used for a wonder weapon in the cod ghosts extinction map exodus.
  • Man, wether this launch would have been a good choice or not... it's a shame to see all that work and effort, put by probably a lot of people, to just throw it in the trash.

Whats crazy to me is how this is most definitely very early, but so much of it is really polished. The weapon animations are bespoke, there's reasonably professional sounding voiceover, etc. Not a lot of this looks placeholder. Kind of makes me wish Neversoft was given a chance to take the reins for an entry.

absolutely insane to me how much content there is here. all this work never intended to see the light of day. Must be heartbreaking as a developer to spend so much time working on all this only for it to just get shelved. I know that not ever project is going to reach completion, but this mission specifically looks quite late-stage in terms of art passes and scene scripting for a 2011 cod game. just in awe of all the effort that's gone to waste here.

This is sick! Who would have thought the future of this series could have been so different.
  • @DonMcGlass
The developers at least considered that optics on rifles would need to be offset to compensate for the bulkiness of spacesuit helmets...unlike Starfield ffs

If rumours are to be believed and this was to be in place of ghosts then just imagine how much better this would've been. Not to mention this would've been before AW and infinite warfare so people wouldn't be tired of futuristic stuff yet. There is so much missed potential here.

This made me realize how much I miss the old style of Infinity ward COD. No long movie-like CGI cutscenes, no constant talking from the protagonist during gameplay, more floaty/slower gun animations that sort of flowed like a dance with the gun in your hand. Less of a focus on characters that can be repackaged and sold like toys in a item shop.. Man COD used to be something else. I miss those days.

They mentioned this story in the infinite warfare campaign of how sato and sdf had a war prior to the events of infinite warfare and given the cod ghosts references in infinite warfare I think this is the first wars earth had with Mars aka the SDF this gives me the expanse vibes so much and this prob would have been better if they had this than ghosts
  • 4:15 this gun has nearly the same exact reload animation as the Vector in Ghosts. I wonder if maybe some of Ghosts animations were initially made for “Future Warfare”

Would've been a day 1 buy for me. I liked the Infinite Warfare campaign, probably would've loved this one too. Man I miss great CoD single player campaigns.

Can't remember if Neversoft even exists anymore, but if any remnants from that team get together, they could make their own legally distinct cod game with this.
  • @mattc7420
I like the helmet-compatible sights and health packs. Would be neat if the new Call of Duty went this direction.
  • I feel like If Future Warfare was released in 2013 instead of Ghosts it could get a better reception then IW. At the time the market was still overwhelmed by Modern Military shooters, and an unexpected space CoD could have been the most surprising switch of a setting akin to CoD4 moving from WW2 to the present era
  • @AlexanTheMan
The IW4 engine was put to good use, creatively wise. Even if there's not much of a graphical uplift it can still immerse you into the world of this game. Just imagine if Neversoft was given time to polish it up and release it as their own game.

This looks so cool. Love the COD4/mw1/2/BO gritty graphics and aesthetics.
