    you know I remember seeing this railroad on TV as a kid. At the end of the show they had the steam engine pulling a freight train with music playing in the background. I wished I remembered the name of it but it was sure cool to see. I am still trying to find footage of that to this day. Great video!!

    The train needed a new firebox. They are working on restoring it now.

    @Strasburg1991 I have no idea. but given that GSMR has invested money in a ready to run Swedish steam locomotive i doubt they have any plans on refurbishing the 1702 or the 722. If you go look at 1702, you can tell it needs a COMPLETE overhaul. It was pretty much completely stripped down to bare boiler barrel, and frame, although the frame was left on the wheel sets. It was being assessed for and overhaul..... I think the management decided it wasn't worth how much money it was going to cost. :(

    No, the 1702 was taken out of service in 2004 because more staybolts that the F.R.A. mandates were broken in the span of a year.
