I saw Chiricahua mentioned in several news articles recently about it possibly becoming a new national park. I figured we'd better go check it out before the crowds arrived. Winter was a good time to go despite some packed snow in sections of the trail. It's a relatively small monument with some historical aspects and some wonderful natural stone formations.

We start out at around 6700 feet of elevation and navigate down through some really cool rocky thumbs with views out over the valley with tons more.
We end up at a frozen little oasis where animals come to find standing water.

I hope you enjoy the desert mountain walking tour. Keep on stepping and check out the website. -H

Wow Henry. Amazing walk. It is a travesty that the indiginece people lost so much land. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk. Beautiful scenery. The snow looks very out of p!ace in that environment. I was surprised to see any. Thanks once again

Do you ever see large wild cats in these areas? Looks like this trail is well used so cats may stay away...but I was just curious. Love the video. So cool

I so enjoyed this, Henry! You do such a beautiful job. 🎬The "Groot" comment made us smile, as we really enjoyed Guardian's of the Galaxy! 🎢 I also am impressed with you taking up mandolin! Excellent!! πŸ‘πŸ» My dad played when he was younger, and he still has the same instrument. My cousin in KY started playing all sorts of instruments (guitar, drums, banjo, mandolin) maybe 5-8 years agoπŸ€”. I hope some day you might consider playing us a small tune?πŸ™ No judges here! Congratulations on learning!πŸ€œπŸΌπŸ€›πŸΌ It would be a special thing to play in the evenings, around a camp fire, or with family gatherings! Do others in your family play any instruments? We mainly play piano here (my sons and I), but we come from a long line of musicians that played either for just fun, churches, or once the family played at a state capitol event. Fun times! I'm excited for you! Here is a SHORT (if YouTube will allow me attaching a link) of my cousin playing his mandolin πŸ‘‡πŸΌ youtube.com/shorts/orZMTKUuuxQ?si=d4MCk5_nQmhJi4eR Thanks again for the fantastic walk and views!
