One of the most famous actors to burst onto the scene in the 1980s, Michael J. Fox has become almost as famous for his very public fight against Parkinson's disease. With "Sunday Morning" anchor Jane Pauley, the "Family Ties" and "Back to the Future" star looks back on superstardom, raising $1.5 billion for Parkinson's research, and a new documentary tracing his life, called "Still."

For those of us not suffering from Parkinson's, we must be aware that good health is a priceless gift, and to be grateful for all that we have.

A rare celebrity who everyone loves. People won’t understand how huge he was in the 80s.
  • At 76, and in failing health, I look up to this man as a symbol of courage and determination in the face of this relentless onslaught. I salute you and embrace you Michael! From a South African 🇿🇦 granny. ❤

My husband is now in the last phase of Parkinson's. Michael is in way better shape, even though it's so sad to see him now in this interview. It is such a cruel disease, and watching my husband's decline has been stressful and heartbreaking. I admire how resilient and positive Michael still is. He's a survivor and very strong. Normally after 10 years of having the disease, symptoms get much worse. God Bless You, Michael.
  • "With gratitude, optimism is sustainable" he says. What a gift he has given us. Be grateful for what you have while you have it.

Heartbreaking to watch him fall helplessly like that in the street as Parkinsons continues to run its course. Hell of a burden. Deep respect for him.

Michael J. Fox was, is, and will always be an iconic hero. His acting is beyond attention grabbing. His positive outlook is thought provoking. His love for life and his family is encouraging. I’ve always enjoyed watching him and remember so many times how much he made me laugh. There are few stars who have affected the world as he has. His impact on Parkinson’s Disease alone is astronomical. He will forever be in our hearts and prayers.
  • Parkinson’s or not, brother you will always be a legend to me. I grew up watching you like we all did.

A sobering reminder that anytime I think I’m having a bad day, I need to stop and realize that I absolutely do not know what an actual bad day is. God bless anyone living with this terrible disease.
  • This is so very difficult to watch. But my gosh the courage he shows is remarkable. And he is clearly still so mindful, aware and insightful..all while managing to keep his trademark sense of humor. What a special gift he has. 🙏🥺❤️💛💜
  • He was and still is amazing!! 😍❤️ He will be an icon forever! ❤️

  • He’s been fighting longer than people realize. He was diagnosed fairly young and to see him still standing is a gift from the heavens above. Stay strong Michael J Fox
  • My father passed away from Parkinson’s and I really admire Micheals courage and positive attitude towards this cruel disease. He has really pushed Parkinson’s research and will hopefully be around to see the rewards.

  • Heart wrenching. Feel so sad after watching this. We used to look up to him as an icon - our idol when we were kids. So many years of hanging on. Remarkable human being. My God give him strength. We all pray for him.
