First upload of 2024, and it's a long one! This slow-building anthem is a tribute to the most honorable and accomplished warrior of Elden Ring's tarnished. The song describes Godfrey, The First Elden Lord's lust for battle and his respect for the warriors who gave him a fight to remember as he faces off with his final rival. For this song I also had the help of 139 lovely people from the discord server, coming together as a chorus of spectators! A huge thanks to everyone who participated, and to @fishpaste2100for mastering this track.

The thing I love about Godfrey/Houra Loux is that he showes you respect. When you're killed by him he encourages you to get stronger and when he is defeated he praises you for your strength and tells you that you are worthy of a crown. The man respects you to the very end.

"Thy strength befits a crown." Your Grace leads you to him, just as his leads to you. After so long, both endlessly fighting opponents that can be called gods, the two greatest Tarnished should settle once and for all who is truly worthy of becoming the Elden Lord.

Godfrey was actually one of the few Elden Ring Bosses I actually respected. Most of the other ones are either incredibly arrogant, infuriatingly condescending, or both. Godfrey, on the other hand, does not give a crud who he is or who you are. He respects anyone who can fight well. Literally tells you that your strength befits a crown. I would be sad for killing him, but I know he wouldn't have wanted to go out any other way.

Godfrey is my favorite boss in FromSoftware's catalog. Everything about him is perfect. From his presentation, to his lore, to his design, and my favorite part, his fighting style. From what I can recall, Godfrey is the only souls boss that has no gimmicks. No magic, no holy power, no lightning, or fire, or strength of the abyss. It's just him. Just his axe, his strength, and his will that opposes you. In all respects, he truly is Godfrey, The First Elden Lord. But in all respects he is also, Hoarah Loux. A Warrior

I love this song for the exact same reason I love the actual Godfrey fight in-game. Theres something just so... pure, about it. With the other fights in the game, theres always some winded dialong or flashy thing at the forefront, with your opponent either out of their mind or casually disrespecting you as scum beneath their feet. But here? Theres none of that. The cards are already down, and the end has come. Here, at the climax of the age, two warriors stand, each with a solid chance at becoming the elden lord. The battle is tense, as blades clash and the ground shakes. But more importantly, it is respectful. Godfrey recognizes your authority, and your power. And treats you as such "Thy strength... befits a crown." Well done on yet another banger song!

It’s thematically beautiful to have a rage-filled human kept in check by a calm beast advisor. Godfrey is probably my favorite character in this game. Amazing work!
