Knurled Surface Blender 2.5 Workflow

Keys to this technique is the use of:
1. The Extrude Individual command to extrude faces normal to the cylinder, and
2. The Individual Origins for the Pivot Point when scaling the newly extruded faces.
Try using the above steps on any object, like Susan to see what happens. Subdividing a toroid and knurling is worth doing as well.

Sadly, this doesn't work in later versions of Blender because the sub-divide doesn't produce triangles, but it's a clever way of doing it.

Not working in new blender. The low quality video is not helpfully for a beginner.
