This is just heartbreaking to see Superman break down like this since we don't usually see such a vulnerable side of Clark like this as he doesn't deserve this torture or to think of himself as weapon, and it seems like now General Lane finally starting to realize that Superman wasnt the alien that attacked him long ago.

You can see in the generals eyes when superman starts crying, he is looks dumfound with a look of shame and suprise that a supposed alien super soilder weapon is still a person inside, lost confused and scared in unknown world that lacks the memories of his original homeworld.

I'm glad it was Amanda who doubled down on her anti-Kryptonian agenda and not General Lane. Seeing him show some sympathy for this cinnamon roll once he showed that his emotions are like every other humans' was such a relief. Lane never struck me as pure evil.

I love that clark is so distressed and horrified from this revelation that he literally isnt able to properly answer the general, really shows how much this messed him up seeing this.

Superman‘s vulnerability was really well-written here. At first time I thought he said those two lines out of grief over Zero Day, but I realised that he asked them out of self-doubt, like he was supposed to say "I always thought that I was brought here for good", then he questioned his own purpose of life, ie "Why did they do this(made/sent me as a weapon)?" Then Superman's mental state would be more understandable at this moment.

I can't decide whether I want the invader's true identity to be Zod or Brainiac. The former says "Not all Kryptonians are the same" but the latter says "Not all ALIENS are the same". Which works better in this story about an immigrant?
