The HMG emplacement is SEVERELY underrated as a stratagem and is often overlooked for more “meta” options. But I’m here to tell y’all this is one of the best stratagems in the game when you put it in the right spot. There is just no substitute for 150 rounds of accurate heavy machine gun fire that can pierce all but the heaviest armor. When combined with the Diligence Counter Sniper, Autocannon, Autocannon sentry, and a little help from Eagle-1 you have yourself a loadout that can take on a planet full of bots.

This loadout also has the benefit of being flexible. You can easily slot in your favorite stratagems and weapons with the HMG emplacement and still be incredibly effective, but I wanted to learn into that engineer role. Hope y’all enjoy.

Apologies for this game being so DARK. Dang bot planets blottin out the sun with their nonsense. I'll try and record on a better lit planet next time, but I hope y'all still enjoyed it! We got discord coming up in the next couple of days and I'm lookin forward to doing some more "refined" teamplay with y'all. I'll mention this in future videos, but I use the Creative Commons YouTube license, so feel free to clip anything you like in any of my videos. As long as people hear the good word of cooperation and teamplay, I am a happy Commissar.

I am genuinely serious when I say you're a shining member of the community. Amidst the horde of content creators who only complain about the state of the game, focus on the most meta builds, and spewing misinformation about the game "dying", your videos on teamplay and variety loadouts always put me in a better mood for the day. Your enthusiasm keeps my interest in the game strong, this coming from someone who can only play less than ten hours per week. Keep up the amazing work!

Holy shit.. helldivers content that isnt negative or clickbait?? FINALLY 😊
  • @S4B3R117
Absolutely LOVE this teamwork-oriented series youve been doing, it has honestly helped me so much with my mindset with this game and helped me rediscover why I like COOP games to begin with.

I forget which game it was I was playing when I saw this, but: "Two players making a bad decision together is better than two players separately making a bad decision and a good decision alone."

Regarding gunship facilities, if you’re willing to swap out the autocannon sentry for a shield relay it is a really potent option for sticking those hellbombs on the first try. The shield really can be used actively or preemptively and can provide a lot of flexibility to an engagement, as well as pivot certain fights toward your favor
  • Dude, this video is absolutely incredible. Everything is well-laid out and super easy to follow. Your selfless playstyle, commitment to quality tactics, and constant team-focused mindset are exactly what this community needs. Keep up the good work, Diver. For Super Earth!

One thing you could add to your teamplay is constantly checking your minimap. This will tell you the location of the enemies, where they’re moving and how many of them they have (and sometimes even tells you the composition of the patrol based on the size of the circles). You can check your minimap while on the HMG that way you don’t get flanked. Also recommend using the booster that increases the range of your minimap so that you can better plan ahead and for better teamplay. Nice video btw.

Great video! I like how you point out the subtler details of human behavior and how to work with or around it. Really appreciate it when people communicate, even in the more subtle ways you’ve shown. Personally, I prefer voicechat, and like you mentioned, its easy to get on people’s nerves if you start telling them what to do. I think I’m pretty good at not being over commanding, at least with strangers (I can be a bit harsher with people I know in real life because I expect them to have my back, working on that.) Have you done or considered doing a video on how to actually talk to the teammates? Things I’ve found. - don’t tell them what to do, instead tell them what you want to do or what you are doing, allowing them to choose to follow you. - similarly, focus on potentially useful info than trying to force people to do anything. Point out enemies, safer areas, mention the time left and that main objective is not complete… - use questions instead of commands. “R2, can you take out that hulk?” Tends to go over better than telling anyone what to do. - phrase things so they can be responded to with a simple yes or no - or other responses that can be done with the in game options. This lets people communicate with you without having microphones. - a generally positive attitude helps. It makes people feel comfortable, and makes you come off as more likable. - be helpful and considerate. Like mentioned in some of your videos, people appreciate when support them, so help them. But you can also use your voice to let them know you are helping or one the way or which enemies you are focusing on, etc - similarly, and probably most importantly, adjust to your teammates, do not expect them to adjust to you. - If you are the only one with a microphone you have the opportunity to increase communication between teammates by calling out when someone else needs support. You can also let people know when (sometimes why) you cannot get to them. - you can speak your reasoning out loud. This means people have a harder time assuming you are just incompetent and stupid, because they can see some sort of thought or logic behind your actions. But don’t spent a lot of time on this. Do it quickly when needed. I appreciate your videos.
  • statwise the HMG emplacement's stats is actually more akin to 2 AMRs, it's a great stratagem, love seeing people use it and the sentries

Gotta say this format is my favorite. I enjoy the live gameplay commentary as well for a more relaxed watch. But these types of videos are just filled with great information every minute and motivate me to dive in
  • @Gorkanaut
Funnily enough iv been enjoying the HMG last couple of days
  • this guy's so good at nonverbally manipulating his teammates into working together
  • @danielnowak3457
ive been running the HMG for months now, its my favourite stratagem, amazing for both bugs and bots. i always pick it before even knowing which support weapon to choose for the mission. it shreds through hordes of armoured enemies, its able to kill almost everything in the game, only struggling with bile titans, chargers from the front, striders canon, but other than that its amazing
  • @PersistentMeow
You are an absolute invaluable pillar pf the helldivers community. Thanks for all the fun and unique loadouts and strategies.

My pal and I have been running what I like to call the "Hoplite" combo because I've got a shield and he's got a spear. I've got the pummeller, railgun, and ballistic shield with whatever other stuff I want (usually ems mortar with the recent module upgrade and precision orbital). My buddy has a counter sniper, spear, hmg, and whatever else they want. So I press forward with the backpack pummeller combo, relatively impervious to the little bots and trying to soak up as much aggro as I can without dying. If I've got it, I'll throw the ems mortar and start pinging big things to get the ems to stun them. This has the additional benefit of calling out those things to my teammates. If they can't cut it down, a well placed railgun shot usually does the trick. Meanwhile, overwatch man covers me with the counter sniper, spear, and hmg emplacement. I'm entirely vulnerable to airborne enemies, so that's a bit of a bummer (could be solved with a rocket sentry, I guess) but I count on his spear and HMG emplacement to cover me if I'm in danger.
  • @arcshadowstorm
HMG emplacement and a touch of high ground is the ultimate ranged support to get your team out of a battle. You need your guys to keep you up, and you'll keep the enemies very dead. I've been running it with the spear, cluster bomb, and literally any other stratagem that can fit the mission type and run smoke grenades and it's been working so smoothly
  • @TheMadRatKing
The HMG emplacement is genuinely one of ny favorite strategems. It always was, but after the turn speed buff, I began to use it almost every opportunity I could make for it. It clears hordes of bugs and bots alike with no difficulty. Very few things it can't handle, and with the ship module to speed up emplacement deployment, it can work as an emergecy fallback weapon when being overrun
