Fit Large Off-Road Tires on 2019+ Mercedes Sprinter: Agile "No-Rub" Front Fender Review & Install

Published 2019-11-08
Big wheels & off-road tires look great on any van! However, the 2019+ (VS30) Sprinter’s small front wheel arches make fitting 17″ wheels with large all-terrain tires problematic. Now, thanks to our newly developed “No-Rub” Front Mini-Fender fitting larger wheels & tires is now possible.

This video will show you how to fit larger off-road tires on your 2019+ Mercedes Sprinter using our "No-Rub" Front Fender. We also cover the maximum recommended tire sizes for lifted & stock 2WD & 4x4 2019+ Sprinter 2500 vans & RVs.

Without modification a 2019 2WD Sprinter 2500 can run 245/70-R17 tires. With the installation of our mini-fender 265/70-R17 tires fit without rubbing.

Without modification a 2019 Sprinter 4×4 will fit 245/70-R17 tires. However, by adding the Agile “No-Rub” Mini Fender the wheel arches will easily clear 275/70-R17 without rubbing from lock-to-lock.

These fenders are available for purchase on our website. We also offer installation for this and other off-road parts & accessories at our Santee, California shop.

Just installed these on my 2019 2500 2wd and was able to put 265/75-16 on there. Couple things: be extremely care with the plastic clips. We tried following exactly what was in the video but ended up breaking the 3 of the clips. I have fabricated some similar but the same (have not found identical clips) clips and will try installing the panels today. This could have been contributed to by trying to trim them in colder temperature than the video, leading to making the plastic more brittle. Also, I found it next to or actually impossible to remove the clips from the housing without destroying the clips. You won't really be able to use a dremel and cutting wheel for all sides of the clips for trimming, although that is a much safer option keeping you from breaking the clips. 2nd go around with my fabricated clips, I had much better luck with a hacksaw blade. Overall, great mini-fender kit, but would be great it a couple more washers were included, and, extra clips for when we break them!

John, any experience with 2021 (2020 MB chassis) Interstate Nineteen 4x4 and max tire size? Wondering about the Airstream body works. Thanks
  • Does the same apply if the van is a 2021 170" 4x4 high roof? It will fit 275/70-R17's?
