The Acolyte episode 3 was supposed to be the one that destroyed Star Wars forever. Was it? #theacolyte #starwars #disneyplus #disney

As a woman who also enjoyed Star Wars as a girl, I'll tell you how to interest girls in the story: make a good story. Add in a female character with good outfits and things to do. Preferably add in a romantic subplot, but make it believable or don't bother. And there you have it! Kind of like the original creators did.

That clip of the bald black chick saying "powerful leader, yaaass, yaaasss" is so painfully bad, I just can't get enough of it!

This show isn't for Star Wars fans, it's definitely not for men or even women. It's for Leslye Headland. This is a therapy session masquerading as a TV show. She wasted 180 million on what could've been an email to her sister that would've been sent to the trash by the inbox filter.

Female Star Wars fan here. This is what we want... 1. Well written story 2. Well written characters 3. Well written dialogue 4. Excellent acting 5. Hot guys that are written well 6. Did I mention good writing? 7. Not to be told that we have to like something because of our gender or the gender of the protagonist

As a young woman, my message to all the young guys out there reading this: most of us aren't into this woke, man-hating material and wimpy guys. Some of us aren't into the bodice-ripper smut novels either. Leslie Headland doesn't speak for me, and neither do Sarah J Maas or Julia Quinn. Some of us like actual stories, with characters who grow, plots with stakes, and lessons that linger. I reject bitterness and misandry. I reject overemotionalism and smut. Give me the Iliad , Lord of the Rings , classic Star Wars, 1917 or The Chosen - strong male characters being brave. Give me Jane Austen, The Sound of Music, the Queen's Thief series, and Howl's Moving Castle - all of the romance with none of the tasteless sex stuff. Please don't mistake the rubbish of current year pop culture for the desires of all women. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

“It’s not a power you wield.” proceeds to wield it as if it’s a superpower

They are making this show for themselves. Plain and simple.

Whoever wrote that ritual scene literally thought they cooked something.

It's not for "women". It's for "a certain type of woman". I think you all get it.

They know EXACTLY what their audience wants. They just don't care, which is staggering for the budgets they're working with.

Single Lesbian therapy for women who even the cat said no to them, and ran off.

The shirtless Yord scene was probably aimed at a gay male audience not women. The actor is gay and this is supposed the gayest Star Wars series ever according to an interview with the creator.

This is BY Leslye Headland, FOR Leslye Headland. And this is intentional destruction. Nothing more. Nothing less.
  • even in star wars young black kids have to grow up without a father

Top Gun 2 is the perfect example of giving people what they want.

I like how the stone chamber just caught fire and burned like wood.

The writers of this show have ironically shown why “mansplaining” exists: “No, you can’t have an open flame in a vacuum. No, you can’t set fire to a stone building. No, a dagger to the chest is not instant death. Let me explain…”
