The amount of anxiety I felt watching Ben watch the bird is wild

Literally the series that make my Wednesdays feel special

I'd love to see a version of this with 3 person teams, 2 on the ground and 1 "operator". The ones on the ground are disallowed access to the tracking software and internet (still would have a phone for other functionality), requiring they go through the operator for such information. Each team can pay to curse the other team's operator making them have to do things like go radio silent for X minutes, give incorrect information for X minutes, singing instead of talking for X minutes, etc. with the other ground team not being allowed to know about the curse til it ends (obviously they can guess it in some cases).
  • It amuses me to no end that Adam wound up just sitting there and watching the episode with us pretty much the whole time.

30:15 Fun fact: the reason why the train didn’t stop at chibachuo station is not that he is on a limited service, but because chibachuo is on an entirely different rail line owned by a different rail company

Sam getting drunk instead of Ben is a nice change of pace
  • @DavidLDana
Scotty: "I hope [Ben] is suffering as much as we are"...Ben: standing with an umbrella with the smile of a child's first picture day
  • @camilo5
I like how Scotty already seems to know some things about Japan, trying to end the call in the train to remain polite is so nice!
  • @Dr.Death8520
Ben losing his phone as Sam decides to SPRINT at him is an oof.
  • It's hilarious that Sam and Scotty are just doing their thing pretty calmly but Ben and Adam are always so serious and act like they're in Mission Impossible or Oceans 11.
  • I love the fundamental idea of the vending machines; it's both mundanely convenient and endearingly Japanese. Also, I love the way they coordinated as Team Colorado and Team Mario Brothers. Also, I love the new music this season. Also, I love that there's another bird-themed challenge, as usual. Also, I love how nobody can read Japanese. Also, I love the sentence "Scotty's on the monorail." Apparently I love a lot of things about this.
  • Okay but can we just appreciate the super adorable animation this season! The flag capture, flag defended, challenge vetoed, completing the challenge, all of it is pretty!😍✨️
  • Ben and Adam as Mario and Luigi is such a nice touch, this season is gonna be great!
  • I'm a your fan from Japan. I am happy that you came to Japan. The sight of you fighting against the scenery and characters of Tokyo where you live is very refreshing! By the way, since Hon-Chiba Station and Chiba-Chuo Station are stations of different companies service, so the only way to move between the two stations is to return to Chiba Station once. I think Japanese trains are difficult for even me....
  • Ben posing as Totoro is probably one of the most adorable things I've ever seen.
  • New game? CHECK, New country? CHECK, New Partner for Sam? CHECK, Ben still adorable AF? CHECK. Let the new season begin.
  • @SnappyWasHere
This is the partner Sam has needed. Confident and forceful to keep Sam in line. Gonna be a good game!

I tried translating the card using Google Translate's drawing feature. It took me, someone with absolutely no experience with or knowledge of Japanese, about 15 minutes to translate it. At one point, I mis-drew one character and it kept telling me something about a hornworm, so I honestly might've been able to do it even faster if I weren't a terrible artist.

Scotty clearly knows his train ettiquette unlike the other guys "gotta hang up, I'll call you back when I get there" Seems like this ruleset allows for a lot of back and forth play, so it's going to be very interesting when the play area expands
