My dad had that experience of working with others toward a common goal when he was 16 years old in 1938 (lied about his age to get in) and joined FDR's Civilian Conservation Corps. He worked in California building roads and facilities in nat'l and state parks. Also gave him a much needed paycheck during the Depression.

  • 1:06:04 ~ Thoughts and ideas not only can affect the material world, but in fact, they are the prerequisite to every change in it. After awakening, one must THINK about whether they will rise, or go back to sleep; and if they rise, they have to THINK about whether to go to the restroom and have a shower, or go to the kitchen for breakfast; and if it’s to the kitchen, what will be MADE for breakfast. Every human action is ALWAYS preceded by the thought of taking that action.

  • The Pursuit of Happyness is a 2006 American biographical drama film directed by Gabriele Muccino and starring Will Smith as Chris Gardner, a homeless salesman. Smith's son Jaden Smith co-stars, making his film debut as Gardner's son, Christopher Jr. The screenplay by Steven Conrad is based on the best-selling 2006 memoir of the same name written by Gardner with Quincy Troupe. It is based on Gardner's nearly one-year struggle being homeless. The unusual spelling of the film's title comes from a mural that Gardner sees on the wall outside the daycare facility his son attended. The movie is set in San Francisco in 1981. You can watch it...
  • 1:17:54 ~ There was a time in my life when I was experiencing a great deal of difficulty trying to find employment and having heard about ‘right-to-work’ laws, I thought it would be beneficial until I found out WHY they were called that. 😂
  • Dialectical materialism has some merits and some downsides, basically. Caleb you have some good points on the topic.

  • 2:18:02 ~ It could be that, as is the case with all people who are willing and want to grow, Jeffrey Sachs may have changed his mind about some things. For instance, he no longer supports the party of Democrats, and has endorsed Jill Stein of the Green Party. Everyone is capable of changing for the better, even if it’s only incrementally.
