If you could arrange it so the spacing between the pipe mounts between hulls was the same as the spacing between fore and aft pipe mounts on each hull, then you could plug both ends of a pipe into one hull for easy transport.

I would stick 2 paddles below the platform - just in case, and because there is room for them =) Good job btw!

I saw you did some poses for the Tech Ingredients 2021 calendar there.

You know he is a proper scientist from the way he dressed for the beach.

Very cool but you did plant the seed in my head about hydrofoils
  • Honestly this guy is so good at what he is doing making these videos that I give thumbs up before I even hit play

MP, I actually like episodes likes this every once in a while where you casually showing your creations in use. It's cool!

I don’t know if I’m in a minority here but I’d much rather hear the sound of what’s going on, especially the motors than some cheesy archive noise. Great Channel and incredible projects but not keen on the music. Thanks for considering if you do. :D

Making us plebs over here jealous! I'm glad the boat was such a raving success, it looks like you had an amazing day out! Of course, we would have expected nothing less from our favourite Main Presenter.

Finally! Thanks for the update! Interesting to observe how cleanly the bow wave moves along the hull in this calm water, and also the wave interaction between the demi-hulls. As I know your channel, I guess we'll see another update with the technical side of this practice test? How pleased are you with pitch stability? (I'm thinking of what this boat would do in rougher waters) Did you make any performance notes? A little empirical kW output vs. speed graph would be amazing ;-)

I feel like a canopy made out of 4-6 130w solar panels wouldn't go amiss here...

You deserve your fun and success. A great example to others that knowledge, hard work and a little skill makes things happen. Well done!

I discovered this channel just a week or two ago, and have been binge-watching all the videos. Really awesome content. I like to imagine he is a retired engineering professor, and thinking there should be a course in which students are allowed to to free range projects like this channel. Brought me way back to my ‘human-powered submarine’ days in college.
  • @libertyauto
Man! I have been longing for an update on this boat! Now to watch it.
  • Been looking forward to hearing how fast it goes, how much power it drains from the batteries, its range on the one Tesla module, and how well those model airplane propellers worked. Were those the original trolling motor props I saw in the brief moment the motor was visible? Hope the next boat video is more like your other ones. The boat seemed to go fast enough to enjoy the weekend well enough. What if you wanted to go camping and put some solar panels as a sun-shade, how far could you go each day? The idea of a tiny-house or camper on the water that doesn't use gasoline and can move from place to place for free is intriguing. Do you think that sort of thing is affordable to an ordinary person?
  • @BobHurt
I really enjoyed watching this project produce that highly functional water craft. WELL DONE!
  • @scottsmith8546
That was great to see one of your projects out in the world for all to see, and the genius you all put into it. That was fun to watch, thanks for sharing your adventures.
  • @PalladianPD
Ah yes, the video I've been waiting for for a year.
