I met him a couple days after his hall of fame induction he was on my plane from Atlanta to San Antonio when I was flying to San Antonio for my brothers basic training graduation one of the nicest, grateful and humble person I have ever met he sat and talked with me for 20 minutes after the flight signed a couple autographs for me and had his son take some pictures of us, coolest things about him in his autograph he put a bible verse, such a great man
  • I sent him a basketball card in 1992 to autograph it. He mailed it back months later signed. Great man and player.
  • Quite possibly the classiest athlete ever in any sport. God has blessed him and used him. Amen David Robinson. You are what all athletes should aspire to be like.

I'm an atheist, but David's view of religion and his grace is for every respect. Just an all-around great man.

Who came here after watching Tim’s speech. Remembering The Admiral, a great man of god who happened to be pretty good at basketball too!

Why can't more of today's players be like him? One of the greats in my opinion.

When someone speaks the way he spoke about his family, so deeply and sincerely, without breaking down into tears it shows me that he tells them things like that often. It's nothing new to him or them. So wonderful to hear/see.
  • Here's a real man of God who isn't afraid to talk about God when 99% of the people wouldn't dare. Now I realize Timmy was the answer to his prayers. Thank you Lord!
  • Wow. Not only is David a gentleman, but he is also a role model to anyone of any age. This man is the truest athlete I have ever seen.

Quadruple double and 71 points game.

This guy is often forgotten, but take a look at all his personal achievements in the league. '95 MVP, '94 scoring champion, '92 Defensive Player of the Year, '91 rebounding champion, '90 Rookie of the Year, 10x All-Star, 10x All-NBA selections, 8x All-NBA Defensive Team, and to top it off, has 2 titles to his name (although he only won those thanks to Tim Duncan). Respect. Edit: I also forgot to mention he's one of four players to record a quadruple-double, and one of only six to score 70 or more pts
  • How can you not respect David Robinson. He’s a man of faith, carries himself with class, and a fine example of anything being possible when you put God first. God Bless David Robinson, and for anyone who reads this comment, may god bless you too.
