I have MateBook (2018) and it's compact and very very sleek. Sometimes I actually need to double check I still have it in my backpack coz it feels so light! Bezels are super tiny too,.

Both are amazing machines in its category. I've interacted with the Matebook a few years back, the materials are just right to the touch and the mechanical feels are satisfying. While HP, Acer, Dell have to resort to their own premium sub brand, Huawei Matebook already represents quality out of the box.

I am a matebook x pro 2018 user and I am very happy with the device. I use it mainly for photo editing (Lightroom, Photoshop and Luminar) and it works flawlessly. As for video editing, I tried to use PowerDirector but this software somehow does not use the NVidia card that is available in this device instead it uses the Intel one so the rendering is slow. I tried to use Adobe premier and this one really flies in this laptop. So what you have said about Windows not good for creative work is just BS. sorry but this is the truth.

The “British” keyboard is an ISO layout, and it’s used throughout Europe because of how readily the same keyboard layout can be used by different languages. The ANSI (American) keyboard was developed by the US for themselves, and as such it is very English-centric. Here in Canada we have both layouts, with the ANSI keyboard preferred by anglophones (most of us grew up with it) and the ISO keyboard popular with francophones. Personally I prefer the ANSI keyboard. I grew up with it, I’m used to it, and I keep hitting the wrong keys when I try to use an ISO keyboard. That said, I do think we should all adopt the ISO standard and get used to using it. A single keyboard layout that anyone can use would be a good thing - it’s an international standard for a reason. Although I must admit I don’t know how well the ISO keyboard layout would work with non-European languages.

I'm British, I felt that. I'm used to the UK keyboard layout, as well as the US layout.

I have always been an apple user but in the last 2 weeks I bought the huawei matebook 14 ", and in my impression, the product is as incredible for its design as it is for its power.

As a MACBOOK PRO user, I think it is wrong for you to say PC's are not good for creative work, is it because of FINAL CUT PRO? Unless your own definition of creative work is different than what it is. I feel it all depends on what works for you. If you say it's your preference then I totally understand. Just don't use your own preference to generalize it. Nice Video BTW
  • Nice, love the bezels on it. Will be in the market for a laptop later this year. Keep the contents coming, thanks 😁

Spainish keyboards have an extra key next to the L, the Ñ. 😉

Just put linux on it and try the free video editing software which is the same like the one apple sells for much money. It's just under a different name and for free! Also linux needs half of the pover windows needs! Really try Linux on it out!

"windows cannot compare to a mac when it comes to creative work".... what are you talking about of course it can. Just because you are only used to fcp does not mean that Final Cut Pro is not out there. The truth is that there is no reason to stick to mac nowadays, especially if you consider that there are so many more options on the windows side of things, with devices with touch and pen input, convirtibles, etc. I own a Surface Book 2 and its awesome. The Surface Book 3 just came out, and although the cpu lags behind most other premium laptops, its superiority in graphics power and versatility make it an awesome do it all machine.

If Huawei were to make a 16 inch to compete macbook 16 inch I would defiantly buy one. Same battery life, power. Maybe more ports etc.

I like the form factor of the Huawei better - I’ve never liked Apple’s touchbar, I prefer actual keys over it. Although I agree that I prefer the Mac’s keyboard layout over the Huawei. I grew up with the ANSI keyboard layout, and I keep hitting the wrong keys whenever I use an ISO one. Other than that, I guess it boils down to whatever OS one prefers to use. I like MacOS for my everyday use, but I use Windows 10 for my professional work. Hmmm...maybe use the Huawei for a hackintosh?

Here in Sweden we have that same 3 keys between L and enter but that's because we have 3 extra letters " Å Ä Ö" than the English language
