Nothing better than driving your car after doing an oil change. I don't know why but it just makes me feel good.

It’s nice to have videos like this, unfortunately for me my grandad and dad passed away when I was young and I never really had anyone around to teach me these things. I love your channel because it’s like having a virtual role model to teach me things that every man should know!
-
LOL, that mower spindle joke was gold! 6:34

You’re always talking granddad memories. Mine would come over every three months to use the garage to change his oil. He would walk in wearing his bow tie, button down collared shirt slacks nice shoe. He’ld go in the bathroom to change into his oil change clothes. Out he would come in his work shoes, shined the night before, his oldest pair of blue pants with oil stains freshly pressed, flannel button down collared shirt and his oldest bow tie and out to the garage and under the car and hood we would go. Love that memory.

I was watching the oil plug vs the pan and was just waiting for the stream of hot oil to rocket out way past your pan, haha! I laughed so hard when you said you had a 50/50 shot of dropping the filter into the pan. Been there, done that.
-
Cody, Changing my own oil gives me the “fizz”. I just did my 75th oil change on my 2002 f150. Ford filter and royal purple has attributed to the 375k+ trouble free miles.

Learning to change the oil and rotate my tires was the 1st step I took into learning to maintain my own vehicle. Now I've learned front end suspension, brakes, wiring accessories etc. It's hard to admit you know nothing and start at the beginning, but it will immediately start building your confidence when you accomplish something knew. Now I'm about to teach my sister and a friend of mine how to change the oil of their vehicles. Just start learning! For any of you techy people, I use Notion and have a maintence page for both my girlfriends Chevy and my Toyota. Maintence records of each oil change, tire rotation, brand of everything I put in, how many quarts, drain plug mm size, etc. Even lug pattern and tire size. Makes it easy!

I don't even have a car... But here I am at 2am watching a guy half way around the world tell me the benefits of changing your own oil
-
You’re about the only guy I’ve seen who adds oil to the filter before putting on the new one. Been doing it for over 15 years and always makes a difference. It’s a big help with reducing the dry start time. God bless you and yours!!!
-
I checked my lawn mower after watching this video and wouldn't you know it, a bunch of free tubing wrapped around the spindle!
-
I totally agree, I've never got my oil changed by a shop or dealership
-
Also, I just love how you speak to your wife. I can feel the love you guys have for each other through your body language. Just plain awesome!
-
That jump cut in the beginning, made me lose. I cannot stop laughing.
-
I knew the pan wasn’t far enough back! But great videos! Really puts a smile on my face

Don't ever stop with the Professional Home Owner! It's my favorite

Saw this pop up in my feed and I instantly thought oh boy Cody’s gonna spill something 😂
-
I just bought oil to do the changes on my car/bike yesterday. Something my father taught me to do and I've been doing it ever since.

I use Rotella Gas Truck oil for my 6.2L F250. Best stuff. ALWAYS use the Motorcraft filter for Ford trucks though. Nothing beats them and most alternative brand filters don't have a proper anti drain back valve. Without the right filter you can get top end noise on startup as the oil drains down to the pan instead of sitting up in the heads. I'm planning on a 2022 F250/F350 with the 7.3L. That oil filter location sealed the deal. Best design I've seen in a long time.

Spending time at the house, just rescued another dog from Georgia. Quality time with all four rescues is Gold.

“My next party trick will be to lose control of the filter...” that had me laughing so hard😂
