    If it happens that you're left with 7 cards instead of 5 then you can just keep the spectator's card at the bottom but start the "deal & dock" (correct spelling ?) by docking the first card (i.e. placing it under the deck)

    Tried this out tonight a couple times on my wife and she still couldn't figure out how I did it. But I found that the first two times weren't as successful because she wasn't trying to deceive me. So the double card lift part of the trick didn't work until the third time in which I told her the premise of " the trick is to try and trick me". I told her that the point of the trick is for her to attempt to lie to me and for me to still find her card. That made it much more fun for her as the spectator, and also flowed better with the premise of this trick. Especially at the double lift when she tried to lie to me and tell me it wasn't her card.
