Doing this project with an Anakin Skywalker Lightsaber would of been the perfect fit, it maintains its shape throughout the design.

Have you thought about using fiber optics in the blade to light up the saber? You may be able to coil/uncoil them while the blade pops up and down. Great work though, the finished product looks really cool and you've come up with some really amazing solutions!

Thats so cool saber looks great! You said the pommel is die cast. Did you cast it yourself out of zinc or something similar?

Also could watch the seen when Luke is turned over to darth Vader it shows the lightsaber hilt very plainly
