Giant sequoia trees are the largest, heaviest trees in nature. These gigantic trees are true wonders of nature, able to live for more than 3,000 years and growing from 4,600 to 7,050 feet above sea level. Their bark is so thick and durable that it provides protection against both fire and threats such as fungi and wood-boring insects. These trees, native to North America, are divided into two groups: scale-leaved and coniferous, and their cones mature in 1 year. Even the world's largest tree, General Sherman, is a giant sequoia. Did you know there are more in Britain now than in California. There are half a million in Britain, but the oldest is just 200 years old and the tallest over here 55 metres.
  • @BeeFunKnee
I want to go there just to hug a single giant tree. I just need 80 other helpers to do it is all.

Ty for this video . One of the most amazing topics in science
  • Nature can be wonderful if we treated fair.Sequoia trees I believe are the wisest species on this planet, they live for thousands of years in harmony-with nature , and have no brains and yet they exis, consciousness as the human species sees it doesn’t exist in the Sequoia species .although they have the power to exist for thousands of years, I don’t think the human species has that power of consciousness , they have the same DNA and they do everything that humans do ,we should study more of their consciousness surely they have something to offer . They live in the same planet.
  • Great video, but thumbs down for the “white supremist” comment as it adds absolutely no value to the subject. 😢

We live in Little Rock and we have cedar trees that are over 100' tall and 12' across! Some are hollow near the ground! There is one you can get inside and look out through a huge knot hole that's fallen out!
