This footage was shot while I was at work and found myself right in the middle of a huge car accident and the insane aftermath including the landing of two helicopters within 50 ft of myself. This is part 1with part 2 coming next including transport of injured and double helicopter take off.

I watched this while falling down the stairs. Thanks to that, this video appeared perfectly stabilized.

That's some real fine camera work. I'm sure it won't take me long to get over the seizure I'm about to have.
  • @dpisaacs
I remember the first time I used a camera too.

those chopper pilots are worth their weight in gold!
  • Lol, this guy still hasn't corrected the spelling error in his title after 6 years?
  • @jonwop
if he was holding a baby instead of that camera, it would be in the chopper with the crash victims....
  • @keithnoneya
You can fix the spelling in your title to CAR instead of CARE. You Tube will allow that.

I am not sure about accident but both of those helicopters are from Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte NC. (Worked for them 20 yrs ago).

I live in Charlotte and work for a local EMS agency and I REALLY wanted to watch MedCenter Air land two of their four rotor wings. But I couldn’t finish it. Thanks for posting the video! Better luck next time.

  • Ah, Medcenter Air from Carolina's Medical Center in Charlotte North Carolina. I remember when I was young and worked at Mission Medical Center and Medcenter Air would fly their Bell 222 UT, that they had at the time, up and land on the MAMA helipad. That was back when they had the 222 and a 206 L3 Long Ranger, before the EC135's. Then Mission decided to switch from the Bö105 CBS to the EC135. It was a toss up between the EC135 and the Agusta Power, and the 135 won. I got to ride on both test aircraft and they were both nice. I love the 135, but the EC145 is nice as all get out. The size of the BK117 but even more internal space, and now the T2 version has the 135's Fenestron tail. Not trying to talk bad about the agile Bölkow main rotor, but it does have some vibration issues. If they would put the new low vibration, five bladed bearingless ATR research main rotor on the 145, it would be perfect. It's an improvement on the 135's bearingless main rotor system with an additional blade to further smooth vibration. They could also incorporate the new Blue Edge rotor blades to quieten it by up to 50% for use where the fuddy duddies whine about blade slap noise. Personally I love blade slap.
