Bullfrog spa Balboa EL 1500 Aux pump jets not working, relay replacement $save$

What do you do when you go out to your favorite relaxing spa getaway and it doesn't work? Freak out? No....you fix it!
Here I repair a Bullfrog Spa ( hot tub). The circulating pump is operating but the aux #2 pump that runs the jets isn't working.
First, shut the power off or the breaker in the electrical box.
Now you can take the access panel off to get to the Balboa EL 1500 controller box (or other similar Balboa controllers).
Warning 220v electricity can kill you and that's the power inside Balboa control box so make sure the breaker is off.
Open the Balboa controller up and verify there is no power coming into the hot tub controller box with a Klein Tools Non-Contact Voltage Tester like in use in the video available here - amzn.to/33RqOIH (affiliate link) .
Then inspect the relay board for Aux pump #2 for damage.
Replace the board (available here- amzn.to/2QpifAI ) and you'll be up and running in no time.

I figured out that water is somehow leaking into the Balboa control box, so I used a strip of Nashua silicone tape (available here - amzn.to/37cJAfm ) to seal the gap to stop water from getting in.

I hope this helps your get your Spa up and running again. Time to relax 😁👍

I just bought a used bullfrog that worked when we looked at it. We moved it filled it and now when the pumps turn on I'm not getting any water movement. I've tried undoing the connections and took out the bleed value but nothing is working. Any suggestions?

Was your hot tub drained when you did this?
