Popular Anime that actually SUCK (ft. Neon Genesis Evangelion)

It's amazing how much of EVA is just computer screens with graphs and percentages with maybe a blinking WARNING sign while off screen voices scream about S2 engines. It really stretches the definition of animated. Most of the episode could be in GIF format. This is a show for people who hate anime to have a legitimate case that anime does suck. Asuka having a fit every time someone mentions Shinji cause he scored higher than her on some vague scan 12 episodes before is mezmerising in it repetitivness. And I'm sure the fans can explain the christian symbolism of random ass shots. Anno is a genius, after all. It's a pretentious show made on one hand to be deep and provocative, but it kept one foot in the pool of goofy anime cliches. It's a miracle we didn't have a scene of Shinji tripping into Asuka's laundry basket and her calling him a pervert. And Anno said he based the 3 main characters on 3 facects of his personality. If it's true he must be insufferable in person.

No, but for real why is it so shit, it is a great concept and had so many perfect building blocks to make something good but they fumbled the bag with the anime and story telling.

I have only gotten into a very few anime franchises, and only 8 got me hooked, those are: Shaman King, Fullmetal Alchemist, Hunter X Hunter, Berserk, Fate Stay Night, Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragon Ball. You can tell how ''new'' i am to anime. I won't lie i didn't like Evangelion either, but there is one popular & beloved classic anime from the late 1990's that heavily dissapointed me; i end up hating it till this day, even more than Evangelion. Be prepared because this is a hot take: the anime i'm talking about is none other than Cowboy Bebop.

Eva is the anime that you won’t get bc the plots convoluted as fuck as a lot of deep messages and ofc it has deep and disturbing scenes that Actually have meaning to them, yes even the fucking hospital scene had meaning mainly because of the fact that shinji doesn’t know anything about these types of feelings, about the feeling of lust or love and shit like that so when he commits that disgusting act he acts in the way we all did, devastated and disturbed.

Evangelion was 20 times more enjoyable on rewatch. Evangelion speaks to me. If the pathetic kid can learn to love himself, so can I. You either get it or you don't. I totally get why you dislike it. Have a good day.
