In this apprenticeship I teach you how to make the mouthy Merc's katana's modeled after the new Ryan Renyolds Deadpool and used in Ronnie Street Stunts video which you can find here:
   • Deadpool Parkour

This is a really awesome looking prop and will be the perfect build for your up coming Deadpool cosplay!!

This build is made of easy to obtain plastics like PVC and can probably be built in only 4-6 hours (not including painting time) and will cost about $30 in used materials and the rest can be used for other builds. It is made of Comic-Con friendly materials . So no matter whether your Deadpool cosplay will be for a Convention, to watch the movie for the 10th time, or for filming a fan film this prop build will hold up to the closest of scrutiny and will wow all your cosplay friends.

The materials are easy to work with, takes minimal tools, and can be done in your apartment or a small space as you can see in the video :) You don't need a lathe or other large woodshop or metal working tools to build and it is stronger and more water resistant than paper, cardboard or other materials.

If you make this build, comment and tell me about it and please send me pictures, I would love to see them and hear about it!

I am new to this channel and I love it this is the first video I have seen on the channel
  • @Cosplay Apprentice So when your making the sheath, what type of plastic is it? Is it the same thermoplastic or something different? And if its the same, how do you dye it?
  • @briancurry3840
Awesome. Epic costume! I already planned to go to the hardware store and craft store tomorrow so I will definitely try to make this!

Thanks for the excellent tutorial, it really helped. I was wondering if you might be able to suggest any alternatives to the Polly plastic. It looks like a really great material to work with but unfortunately it is a bit out of my price range. So far I haven't been able to come up with any alternatives (especially for the crosspiece guard as I don't know anything that could mold around the PVC like that). Thanks.

I came back to watch your old vids I can't believe I didn't comment before I remember watching it when it was new though

I like it, I haven't checked yet but if you haven't already please make a Daredevil costume but the one from the tv show before the "red" one. The black one, I've been trying to get that together for ever but I've been mainly having issues with the "mask" I read somewhere that it's made from a cotton mesh so the actor could see through it for all the fight/parkour scenes. Something like that, if you could dig up some more info that would be fantastic! :D
