Loved the dishwasher outflow pipe parts on the EVA helmets. Good use of everyday stuff for props!

As a fan of the Alien series, I thoroughly enjoyed what felt like a well executed tribute to the franchise, with it's own unique touch! The Alien references I noticed were at 3:15 (same alarm sound as on the Nostromo in ALIEN), the fact that the planet they land on is windy af, the helmets picking up a "rogue transmission" (Covenant) and of course the saliva dripping onto the unsuspecting victim. And as another commenter noted, only giving brief glimpses of the creature, leaving you to fill in the blanks so to speak. Well done short by very talented people and clearly fans of ALIEN. Thank you DUST for curating excellent content, as always!
  • As with a lot of the other comments, a very strong "Alien" feel to it (nothing wrong with that!). Decent acting, FX work was good. Good suspense, not a huge focus on the alien, creature or whatever it is, but enough to let you get the idea... it's NOT friendly! Nicely done.

I think having just a glimpse of the threat was a fantastic move, really keeps up the suspension and mystery. Shout out to the engineer Schultz (John Gessner) on board the Iris warning the others, great performance! Overall a very enticing and thrilling short!

In the year...2159... When every single printed letter still needs to make a blip sound.
  • @ecphorizer
I really liked the intro text appearing and disappearing "A L I E N"-style. Now on to the movie.
  • It's like watching Alien in ten minutes. It was gripping and worth the watch. Thanks guys for the upload!
  • @ericchild8845
That was way to awesome to be so short. More please!
  • @rossblakevibes
the washing machine pipe stuck to the helmet + the fact that the pipe was open, made it hard for me to suspend my disbelief
  • It may not be the most original premise/story, but it was really well executed.

We need a whole series of such Sci-Fi. Dust, can't you guys gather all these artists and try to get a funding? :|
  • @noahellis3672
Remember, in space no one can hear you scream. Where's Ripley whenever you need her?
  • @tealwraith9045
Now THAT was a short! Sweet, to the point, and no confusion.
  • @Patkircher2552
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh😳😳😵‍💫😵‍💫😵😵😵 scared the 💩right out of me. This would definitely be a fantastic longer length feature. Hated that it ended so soon!!!!
  • @NotALot-xm6gz
Captures the “Exploring/exploiting outer space with all your equipment made down to a price” vibe of Alien perfectly.
  • @alexspeed4870
That was the best jump-scare I have had for a while! Nicely done.
