Best thing to happen to you boys and us as a collective moving to crondon. Welcomed so well, the little things they have put in place for you boys is also class. You missed the part where members were moaning that you drove down the 4th from the 3rd tee box. How dare you try and score well!! Viva la golf supply , glad I made a quick buck wirh Westwood
  • As a member of Crondon Park, I'd like to welcome you to the golf course and I for one am happy that you are filming there and showcasing our wonderful course.
  • @GOLFDAYS
Fair play to you ash. Coming out and speaking out. I salute you... Sidenote I was at tha range other night and was going to come over and just say hello but you were helping a mate out with his swing so left you to it. Doing great stuff mate.

That's mad! I remember letting loads of people through when we played the subscriber scramble. Those people we did let through, were really interested in what you were doing and really positive. Shame that clubs are still like that.
  • Great video! This is exactly the same at the course I play at the old boys are so stuck in there ways and unfortunately are never going to change this is the reason alot of younger golfer stop playing
  • @jaammeesss377
well cant say ill be playing braintree golf club ever after hearing that! glad you guys have moved to a course supporting what you are doing
  • Played at Braintree a few times about 10 years ago. Agree with everything you have said, hence why we haven’t been back since. Hope to be at your Crondon day next year

I was a member at Braintree - course is beautiful but I stand by everything you’ve said. I was a member around 5 years ago and I was around 26 years old then but left to join elsewhere. It is primarily older people there and even though nothing was said, never felt truly welcome. Sadly the few that you mentioned will never be pleased. Best of luck at Crondon boys, great track
  • Come over from Instagram to watch this (great teaser post 👍) Hope you can make bigger and better content at your new club 👍 I’ve been a member over at Warley Park near Brentwood for 5 or so years now, they’ve always been great with me filming and tagging them in my videos 👍 as you say, Always film vlogs in off peak times, let people play through, and they have a 9 hole course over the road that’s always quiet, which is handy. I’ve had plenty of funny looks and comments over the years at loads of courses, even though I’ve not impacted their game at all…to quote Ted Lasso, people are judgmental, not curious. (The part with I assume your missing crawling under the table - 🤣🤣🤣)

This is a problem at all clubs right now. As a new (younger) player, my partner and I have had to move twice to find a place that has friendly members. Every club seems to have a core group of older, old-school, hierarchical "command and control" members who feel they own and run the club and they are very judgemental and mean to be honest. We have to keep trying to create more friendly and supportive cultures for all kinds of people and abilities :) We are part of the new movement in golf, and we can make it fun! And keep doing your awesome vids! Thanks for sharing, it makes us feel better :)

Myself and jack (uraveragegolfer) played Braintree yesterday in a match and yes I agree the course is absolutely brilliant but watching your video makes sense our generation in 10-15 years time will be more welcoming! Also what’s crondon park like never played it! Love your work 🎉
  • @Joshtheenemy
Keep smashing it lads, shame about the older lot, seems to be similar everywhere! Love to get a round in if you do Subscriber series again, crondon is great 👍🏻
  • I played there some months ago with a friend who's a social member, x full member. He left for similar reasons actually ! I have to say tho when we we played about 5pm in the evening one summer night we were caught behind 4 players and a couple of others filming who didn't even seem to think about calling us through. In the end we just walked onto a hole ahead of them! I'm not sure if it was golf supply I don't know if anyone else films there? Were very slow though ! It's hard trying to combine players who've been in golf clubs all their lives and are set in their somewhat snobby ways sometimes and newer younger modern players with different dress sense and sometimes etiquette etc. It's probably true things will change in the future as the older generation passes on. What amazes me is how you all joined so quickly? I put my name down nearly a year ago and still hears nothing! I'm an x 4 handicap so a pretty decent player off about 10 now but after hearing your post I'm doubting whether I'd bother now? Good luck at Crondon that'll be more your cuppa
  • You need to try the Rayleigh club. One of the best layouts in the county and also the most down to earth golf course in the county. They are moving with the times and would love all the work. 👊🏼
  • @leehughes4310
Great video ash!!! Good for you mate!! More people need to be aware of these poisonous golf clubs where members bully people out of the club. I used to me a member of club just like it and it was horrible!! Be good to see you boys back over five lakes for a round some time. Oh and can’t wait for my GS T SHIRT to land in the post 👍🏻👊🏻
  • @garywilmot5064
It's such a shame committee's have to be like that. I was on a committee in a different sport and it was always a battle to try and change things for the better. It's all because the old don't like change and see things as their own. You're better off out of it. Keep the great videos coming. Would love to play a round with you guys someday.
  • @Tomshanksit
Felt the “old boys” atmosphere at Chippenham golf course earlier this year… played alone, people weren’t happy with me having a camera stand on the tee… got through 9 hole and left. Every hole someone old telling me I couldn’t have a stand on a tee box etc. ridiculous
  • @goursd3129
This sounds exactly like my Club with a group of people who are so stuck in their ways they dont see times changing or want change. They have already driven so many golfers away with their attitudes and reluctance to open their eyes to the bigger picture
