While the 2000s is generally presented as one of the biggest toss ups of all of the eras in NBA history, here's why Kobe destroyed his decade unlike any other player ever besides Jordan in the 90s.

  • 10 years - 7 NBA finals and won 5 championships. Goat of the 2000s 🐍
  • In the 2000s, Apart from Kobe's Lakers, all the western conference teams that made deep playoff runs all deserve more attention than LeMedia.

Kobe has never stopped until he ruptured his Achilles in 2013. He had faced the highest level of competition for a LONG time and more games. 00-10 Western Conference was the best time for basketball ever in my opinion. Even compared to '90s.

It's weird. I remember there was a time where I thought it was common knowledge to think that Kobe was up to the second best player of all time next to Jordan, then it seemed like overnight, LeBron entered the conversation and the media stopped talking about Kobe all together. Maybe I'm remembering that incorrectly, but I do remember for sure being confused when people started to speak as if LeBron had surpassed Kobe way before you could even make that argument.

Kobes 2008 to 2010 run is one of the greatest feats in nba history. Kobe ran this decade to say otherwise is disrespectful.

The guy won titles at the beginning of the decade and won at the end of the decade

I'm a Spurs fan. Tim is my guy, however playing 2nd fiddle to Kobe is nothing to be ashamed of. If not for the Spurs Kobe would've won more rings without a doubt.

I remember how brutally competitive the 2000's were. The media has a way of making you forget that. Being a Kobe fan, I appreciate you highlighting his greatness when the media constantly points out to the viewers of all the players they think are better.

I have Kobe #2 behind MJ and right ahead of Bird. People who didn't watch Kobe in the 2000s just do not understand how great this man was. The revisionist history on Kobe is criminal. I didn't see MJ, but I saw Kobe. This is what I call special.

When the game is on the line, and everything is at stake, LeFrozen seems to fade into the background. Kobe, on the other hand, had an insatiable hunger for victory. He wanted the ball in his hands, and he wanted to take the last shot. He relished the pressure and thrived in those high-pressure moments. LeBronze, well, he seems content with passing the ball or deferring to others when the going gets tough. He melts under the spotlight while Kobe thrived, hitting iconic contested shots and carrying his team to victory.

LeBron James won 1 scoring title, Kobe Bryant won 2 scoring titles, and Michael Jordan won 10 scoring titles. No MJ carbon-copies. Kobe Bryant was Kobe Bryant, with some of Michael Jordan’s moves, which both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant confirmed. Highest scoring games of their respective careers: LeBron James -61 points /5 assists/ 7 rebounds , Kobe Bryant - 81 POINTS/ 2 assists/ 6 rebounds, and Michael Jordan - 69 POINTS/ 6 Assists/ 18 REBOUNDS, yes EIGHTEEN REBOUNDS for Michael Jordan’s highest scoring game of his career. So LeBron James was good. Kobe. Bryant was extra special. And Michael Jordan was OTHERWORLDLY!

The fact that some people don't think Kobe is top 5 is insane. He is easily top 5. 🐍💯🙌

Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan owned the 2000s decade. Both won their championships the right way, they both have incredible battles against each other, especially in the playoffs, both of them were dominant in that physical tough and more competitive Western Conference when the West were so damn deep in the 2000s and they went through many many Hall of Famers and All-stars to get to their championship wins
  • @22deeboi
Kobe was and is my favorite player. Considering all he went through and to still persevere is still amazing. To being doubted, to being respected. To failing multiple times to succeeding multiple times. #MyGoat

Imagine if Kobe actually had a decent supporting cast from 2005-2007, he would of definetly made it to at least 2 finals or even get a ring.
  • @chrisb5000
Also for most of the decade, Kobe was kept on a leash by Phil as far as him going off on scoring tears. He could have way more statistical achievements if it wasn't for that. But Kobe really wasn't a stat padder like that, he only cared about winning. And besides going through that gauntlet in the Western conference in the slowest pace in NBA history he also did it with multiple injuries as well as winning a chip with a broken finger on his shooting hand and other injuries. I remember LeBron sprained his finger on his non-shooting hand one time in Cleveland and he missed five games because of that.

I once saw Kobe play. It was in the Playoffs in San Antonio. I had nosebleed seats. The Lakers beat the Spurs. I was so upset, but when I think back, what I remember the most is Kobe making fadeaway 3 pointers. It’s the ONLY thing I remember. Thank you, Mamba.

I got into the nba because of Allen Iverson. Then as a kid growing up in Miami, Dwade became my favorite player. I always saw Kobe as a rival so I never rooted for him. I was far from a Kobe fan. However I would never be foolish enough to say Kobe wasn’t the top dog of the 2000s
  • @therealcyberius
Duncan was a machine. I have the utmost respect for him as a player, teammate and man. However, if I have to choose between Duncan and Kobe I have to go with Kobe.
