There we are at the top of Zion National Park via Canyon Overlook Trail, when he climbs over the rail and JUMPS! Answers to questions - I have no footage of the jumper prior to jumping. We saw him on the trail but had no reason to believe he was anything other than a fellow hiker. This was meant to be a family video and the two hiking are my wife and son. After landing, the jumper walks up a hill to the left to the road. The voices you hear while he is falling are fellow hikers that I don't know.

Imagine picking up the bag with your lunch in instead

Anyone else got this gem recommended to them in 2024?

Some people will do anything to avoid hiking down a steep trail. Looks like fun!

Then the walk out to where his car is parked is actually way harder than the walk from his car up to where he jumped from.

He probably looked around once he reached the ground again and said; "okay, now I go rock climbing."

Life dangles by the thinnest of threads on a daily basis...no need to go tugging on the string!!!

It's beautiful but I feel woozy even looking at this video. I could never walk there.

You intentionally left out the part where he has a parachute.
  • I know a guy who BASE jumped from the top of Comcast 1 in Philadelphia and broke BOTH of his legs upon landing and had to hobble on his 2 broken legs to the van awaiting him at the bottom. He hasn’t BASE jumped ever since.

Whats even more nuts is the dude had to do a double back flip before pulling his parashoot
  • Tremendously skilled dude - much respect. For the confidence he has in self/chute. A very self-assured jump - loved it.

Wow.. how cool, his parachute didn’t open. But I bet he had fun.

Wow!!! That was so cool. Great shots of the trail. My family and I went there in July 2008, but we didn't have any jump off the end! What a neat shot! Thanks for sharing.

Trying to get back out of there with no hiking gear or water seems like the real problem.
  • I've been in the wash you see in the bottom of the canyon. I hiked out after 8 rappels in Pine Creek narrows .
