Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskys has warned that Russia's latest push in Ukraine's northeast could be the 'first wave' of a wider offensive.
He has been visiting the region of Kharkiv, which sits on the border with Russia and has faced intense bombardment by Russian troops in recent weeks. Ukraine's new conscription law comes into effect today, lowering the age of conscription from 27 to 25 in a bid to boost manpower.
Exhausted troops on the frontlines are hoping for a break, and for more weapons to hold Russia back.

If your country does not allow you to leave, you are not a citizen. You are a prisoner.

We have a record and can be accessed on the internet. In February 2024, just a couple of weeks ago, Zelensky told the world that they had only lost 31,000. Why would they worry about man power today?

I wouldn't call that "lashing out". I'd call that simply telling the hard truth.

I probably be called a pro-Russian troll but Zelensky needs to alter his war aims and align Ukraine military and political strategy. If Ukraine military is on the defensive and the aim is simply to limit Russian gains it makes no sense to maintain war aims based that require complete military victory. It creates a situation were there no plausible end other than Ukrainian military collapse. Start being realistic in war aims and conscripts can see there fighting to hold the line to strengthen Ukraine in ongoing negotiations, so a conscript can see fighting for maybe six months to help Ukraine at the negotiating table not just going frontline to stay until they die or are seriously injured. What do think the latter will do for morale?

Zelensky himself escaped conscription into the army 4 times before becoming president. Now truckers are on strike on the roads of Ukraine, against this law. They say that they are not slaves of Zelensky. Zelensky said that he has an army of 800 thousand people, and in 2 years Ukraine has lost only 31 thousand soldiers .question - how is there not enough soldiers? Maybe Europeans are taken for not very smart people?
