CRACKED: Animated Short Film

Published 2023-12-29
This story revolves around Faccia who grows up hearing “be perfect” all the time. That is why she pushes everything she has to be an achiever and to please everyone around her. She might be the main character but the mother and the cracked guy, Hannan inside the story seal the deal of the lesson of the film. The mother is created to show harsh words and pressure while the Hannan is for empathy. The film tackles both the spectrum and its effect on an individual.

I knew someone who was treated like a “Golden Child”, poor guy after finally leaving high school faced a bitter cold reality that his gift was nothing but a mere illusion created by his parents and the school. I heard from my friend he fell into a bad depression, alcohol and drug abuse then disappeared from everyone’s lives, stopped contacting his friends and never heard from him again. He was really talented but was overly praised, put on a pedestal every day of his life, feel bad since he watched his other two friends succeed only for him to fall behind
  • For humanity, imperfections/abnormality is perfection/normal. Really, they both cancel each other out.

This is amazing! I know what’s it like to try to be perfect. But really… No one’s perfect. We’re humans, everyone makes mistakes. Edit: Hey not trying to be rude I’m enjoying your replies but I don’t really like when my comments have too many replies it’s just I have social anxiety and I prefer if I had 1 or 3 replies I’m not trying to be rude just letting you know.

I looked up the meanings of the names of Faccia and Hannan out of curiosity, turns out Faccia means "Face" and Hannan means compassionate, I really like the name choices because it describes the characters! (Faccia has a cracked face, while Hannan showed empathy for Faccia)

As a Gifted Kid who’s suffered with Gifted Kid Burnout, this is incredibly relatable to me. It all starts staying up late, then having trouble paying attention because you’re tired, then seeing a bad test result and that taking a big hit on your self esteem, so you try to push harder but you keep on failing. I remember struggling to keep myself awake in class because I was so tired. I’m happy you made this amazing animation and I can connect to it a lot.
  • As someone who has lived and experienced what Faccia and Hannan have, I applaud the creator! 🥰 Marvelous job!!! 👏🏻
  • Its not the end once you grow up youl learn from your family mistakes and correct them by giving your future children love and support and not treating them like objects.
  • I wish parents would see this, they need to understand the pressure alot of today's kids are facing

I'm happy when my children succeed, but I'm not upset when they don't. Ultimately I just want to see them happy. For me this is the main thing ❤

If you liked this, try "twins in paradise" (about perfection pressure effects). Or "stupid dinner" (about feeling like an imposter all the time) from VEWN.

This film…I just got recommended this and now, now I feel like I can keep going, I’ve been struggling with this perfectionism and I believe I started developing Atychiphobia the fear of failure and turning it into a film, this film may be new but it deserves a reward, this gave me a Will to keep making my film and maybe people will notice it I also really hope you get an award for it

You got me “cracked up”! But this film was beautiful and very well made and I really enjoyed it

No one is perfect. You're brave, kind, smart and funny. Just embrace your imperfect self.

Once that first crack appears, if not treated properly, it will grow until you shatter.

If anyone was perfect there'd be nothing to look forward to, no reason to wake up in the morning and doomed to stagnation. Evolution would stop, you've proven beyond any challenge and there's nothing you don't already know.

This was... so beautiful to watch. I wanted to cry at the end.
