This film, ‘Anxiety Today’, focusses on anxiety in the modern world and how it affects the lives and views of two twenty-two-year-old women in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. The film comprises of a combination of interviews taken place over the course of three months where the subjects discuss their own personal experiences with anxiety and the experiences of those closest to them. The purpose of this film is to offer a platform for those who wish to share their thoughts and feelings on anxiety, and to shine a light on the various issues that the current generation undergoes due to the lack of existing solutions regarding this sensitive topic. The director of this film hopes to portray the high stakes of living with anxiety today, and how it has not only affected these women differently but has also branched out to affect those around them. There is also hope that this film accurately depicts the individualistic effects of anxiety and how even among only two subjects there was a substantial difference between the two experiences. Furthermore, ‘Anxiety Today’ aims to wield its narrative in order to assure those living with anxiety that it is possible to overcome their fears and to allow themselves to be seen and heard. This film hopes to challenge the viewer into seeking a solution to a problem that is already rather difficult to discern, and as such does not possess an answer to its uncertain question.
