  • the A and B strings hurt so much, that as soon as my fingers get off them they're almost shaking with pain

My fingers hurt like hell I've started a few days ago Can't do 5 minutes until they almost start to bleed

Another thing that helps: lighter strings. I always recommend beginners use REALLY light string gauges. Like, insanely light. So, for an electric guitar that would be 8 - 38, and for an acoustic 10 - 47. Of course, those gauges vary a bit depending on brand, but those are the ballpark gauges. Once your finger pain subsides, then you can bump up to the next heavier string gauge, if you want.

"How to get callouses? Play guitar!" Seriously, I needed to hear that today bc I was feeling dejected but hearing that makes me feel like a year or three from now, I will be better :)
  • My fingers only hurt when i practice sliding riffs over and over. Get a nice string imprint in my callous and throbbing pain. Advice- dnt stop playing and u wnt notice the pain. Play FOREVER

My fingertips are sore, bruised, almost blistering, numb, and I'm loving it. Calluses developing nicely and I'm proud of it. Now I have to get the frets leveled because I'm getting awful buzzing and muting around the 8th fret. Did buy this used though.

0:04 you remind me of the Song "Helter Skelter." By the beatles. At the very end of the song ringo starr screams "I'VE GOT BLISTAHS ON MAH FINGERSS!"

So I dip my finger tips in super glue or clear nail polish - 2 - 3 layers. Once it's dried, I have good concrete hard fingers.πŸ˜πŸ˜‰πŸ‘πŸΌ
  • Awesome. You are truly awesome. So it was all about using the adequate pressure!!. Wow. This has to be the best ever guitar beginner lesson of all times. Encouragement and technique description nicely combined. You deserve the Guitar Sage name. Big bow from India.
