This song's melody is so complex yet the overall effect is so straightforward and communicates Joni's message so clearly. This is the mark of an absolute genius-level songwriter.

She survived childhood polio, taught herself the piano, and tuned her guitar differently than the norm. She is her own genre, a musical genius.

Joni is one of the greatest artists of all time. Check out her entire catalog. It's a virtual gold mine of great song writing. Her lyrics are sheer poetry that paints picture stories in your mind.

First Joni Mitchell song I ever heard, approximately 1975, 14 years old, totally smitten.

Joni is a legend. One of them best musicians of the past 100 years. Her lyrics are poetry, her style is so varied, and her musicianship is unmatched. There is no well deeper than hers for amazing music.

A couple of other very talented female singer-songwriters from this era are, Carole King and Carly Simon.

Yeah! You are finally hitting Joni. This woman is a Master singer songwriter and has influenced so many other artists. Her album "Blue" recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, which is considered a masterpiece. I highly recommend you listen to her songs "A Case Of You", "Raised On Robbery" and "River", just to name a few.
