He's 100% spot on, IMO. Proportion is critical. I loved his no-nonsense approach. RIP, chef. You were the best.

Out of all the famous people that are no longer with us. I miss this dude the most.

"There's a tectonic slide that occurs when you start to over complicate and add other products" This is SO Anthony Bourdain. For things like this, he'll ALWAYS be missed IMO. RIP my friend :(
  • For something as simple and basic as a burger, only Anthony Bourdain could break it down into a thesis where he transforms common food into poetry. The world misses you so much. RIP

Finding this through the algorithm is like Anthony was sent back for a fleeting few minutes from the great beyond to share the good word about good burgers. RIP
  • Didn’t think it was possible to be this articulate and scientific about the structure of a hamburger

Anthony Boursin once visited my school to talk about his book back when I was in the 3rd grade, I'm now going to be in the tenth grade. He made up a cool little story right there instantly. He told us how easy it is to write a book.

This man was a hero to me. I discovered him when KC was first published. And fell in love w/ his story telling. When he went into the TV travel shows, I think he became one of America's great ambassadors, showing people of other nations that, yeah, maybe we can respect their culture and traditions.
  • "In a perfect World, you should be able to eat a burger with one hand," I feel the sentiment was shared by Jim Delligatti in '67. Bread is the crucial foundation. Dwight Schrute almost quit Dunder Mifflin, saying "Bread is the paper of the food industry. You write your sandwich on it." I agree with all critiques of unnecessarily tall burgers. Architecture is especially tricky when you're supposed to eat the damn thing.
  • Meat to bread ratio and the burger holding together! Statement is on point !

I hate it when someone gives me a 9inch high burger..how do i eat this?

Wow, he summed up exactly how I feel about how a burger should be (and I've never been able to put it this way). My friends are amused at my Big Mac Ritual where I re-organize the burger before eating it, trim the square cheese to match the round patty and bun. The bun to burger ratio is super important to me where I know exactly which buns to buy to match the burgers. Magnificent summary

The perfection hides in a well thought out combination of condiments and toppings, keeping 'will this improve it?' in mind as indeed the golden rule. The options are however so vast and tasty that the classic burger should be approached as a blank canvas instead of a finished painting.
  • There is something so honest and straight forward about Bourdain. He is a great loss
