What Kayak to buy?

Old town Bigwater 132 Thoughts great boat for both offshore on good days and anytime on freshwater!
Nucanoe Frontier 12 Thoughts Great work horse for freshwater, be very timid to take this boat very far offshore.
Hobie Outback 2018 and prior, Thoughts Best Offshore pedal kayak imho. A little small and cramped on long freshwater outings.

Range on all kayaks is limited unless you step up to a trolling or outboard motor. I prefer pedal kayaks over paddle kayaks for the hands free operation. Seem to get a lot more tired paddling vs pedaling as well. These are three boats I have extensive experience in and would suggest to anyone looking. Lots of other great boats out there but these are at the top of the list of the ones I have used. Hope this helps and tight lines!

Just need to be a baller and buy one of each! I have a Jackson Big Tuna (converts for tandem) that I bought when my daughter was young, and an Old Town AP136. A lot of money in 2 kayaks! Fished the Devils last week and had to borrow a kayak bc both of mine are too big. Fished a Hobie Outback, and it was really too big also! Like you said, all depends on what you intend to fish.

I've been looking at buying a kayak again. For me, the most important factor for me is weight. Im going to have to buy one that I can lug down a fairly steep bank to get to my local river.
