I’m a big fan of Tung Oil, most of my hardwood projects I use Tung oil, it is so simple and has protected my tables and chairs from water and oils from skin! Great video!

Hey man I just randomly stumbled upon your video & as I also am very into making furniture, custom pieces with wood-I have to say, your video, even if ppl already know the things you’re speaking on, are so thoughtfully described and broke down as to anyone could and should comprehend. Seriously I’ don’t even comment like this on yt Haha😂 so good shit & I hope to continue to see you with videos and projects. Woodworking community imo could use some fresh blood on yt so all the best and thanks again.

NightHawkInLight recommended I check your channel out. Definitely earned a subscriber!

I think the light glare thing is called a raking light. They actually make hand held lights meant to make the glare at an angle to check finish/scratches etc. Or just use a flashlight or one of those little led fluorescent lights powered by batteries meant for closets etc

I’ve missed your videos, glad to see a new one :)
  • Awesome vid! Could you bring back relaxing builds with music like the Chair video?

I like oil for the ease, but I prefer the poly for the level of protection. (But between you and me... sometimes I do both...)

You can clean up permanent marker by writing over the marks with a marker. (The solvent in the fresh mark reactivates the dried.) Or use alcohol, as most permanent markers like sharpies use alcohol as the solvent. All of these methods have saved me. 😃

Good night, so many cool videos, almost 230k subscribers and no more videos, what happened????
  • @Swimdeep
Good video. As an aside, it would be very helpful as a viewer and would help creators as well, if DIY or craftsmanship videos were categorized by level of proficiency—beginner, intermediate, expert, etc. I’m an intermediate woodworker and your video is well-produced and informative but it’s all stuff I already know. Normally when I click on something that is below my skill level, I generally click out and keep looking. This is cumbersome and doesn’t help creators who have worked hard on their content. I hope you’re able to comment because I think it would be a good change for YouTube.

I just got to know your channel, but no new videos. All good man?

I really like to use linseed oil then dewaxed shellac as a base coat, then depending on what the surface is going to be used for, i’ll either leave it as is/add more shellac, spray Nitro on it or use some poly.
