I'm glad how much of the scenes are referenced from the old animation memes fluff had made and were all re animated into this whole pmv to get thing all connected. They were also heartwarming while watching but kind of traumatizing at the same time

I showed this to my dad and he pointed out that muffin might not have intended to go on that drive in the first place and the only reason he did was so latte could study in peace so now I'm sobbing even harder

1:16 “my recovery is always slower than yours” I remember reading on Toyhouse that Muffin’s Axolotl regeneration ability is much slower than Latte and Chiffon’s. Nice detail.

Man the way the animation just became progressively darker along with the backgrounds as each fight/injury got worse and worse was perfect. Those two have such an adorable relationship but it also brings up so much awesome angst potential

This animation is the definition of, "you dont know how important somebody is until they are gone."

the fact muffin could beat someone twice his size and leave literal pools of blood everywhere is just, impressive to say the least

I love how this visually shows you how Latte feels guilty that in the end he feels like he wasn't able to be there for Muffin when he needed him the most the way he would always be there for him. An amazing case of "show, don't tell." This is gorgeous.

1:46 I like how Latte is holding a yellow tulip in this scene. Yellow tulips throughout history have symbolized hope, happiness, and cheerfulness. Considering this scene took place before the car crash, and Latte was the one holding it, it gives the vibe of the calm before the storm 😁

I'm surprised NO ONE has mentioned the direct parallel/remake of the scene from the old EPOCH meme at 2:55. I recognized it immediately and it was just so nice seeing this scene again after so much improvement. Well done Fluff!

Like someone said…This is like a whole ass short film. The framing and the characterization here is INSANE. It feels so realistic. (The movements when Latte was realizing what had happened to Muffin, slowly standing up and then …sharply? realizing the gravity of the situation and SPEEDING to the scene broke my heart.) This is genuinely why youre one of my fav animators. You are able to mix wholesome and tragic and FUCKED UP in a borderline masterful way.

i dont think people are appreciating enough that this is an entire short film youve made on your own, its amazing. also seeing some focus on muffin and finally seeing, after YEARS, the way he gets injured and the before and after... WOW. it was always alluded to or referenced but this is the cleanest weve ever seen it and it feels so hype this is really incredible and emotional and i sincerely love it a lot, it just deepened my investment in these characters!! amazing amazing amazing

Literally had to pause the video to say this bro. I’ve never seen an animator get their characters to feel so real before. I absolutely love it! Watching this makes me want to animate too which is weird cuz I know I don’t have the patience for it. But damn this is just too inspirational!

I really would like to point out/appreciate something here at 2:52 , even if I’m incorrect. This whole scene is in monochrome shades of black, grey, and white, even Latte. The only thing besides maybe the caution tape (but even that has desaturation in the next shot) is Muffin. The only color pointed out is the blood, and Muffin’s arm. I’m not sure if that was intended but it has great emotional meaning from what I can see. Black and white being used as a blank slate, someone who’s so stunned by the instance that they can’t tell color from color, all they can see is the worst part. Latte doesn’t care about what’s going on he only cares about Muffin, and whether its just a stylistic choice or not I think it’s amazing. You did a wonderful job, Fluff! This whole video is something to behold!

I've been rewatching this animation over and over again the past ninteen hours, and I think I've finally got my thoughts in order enough to make a comment. There's something genuinely so special about seeing what happened to Muffin in animation from his perspective and in so much detail. It's been this big tragic event for years, and we've certainly seen bits and pieces, but it's... It's like we've reached the crescendo of a song, if that makes any sense. The raw emotion you can tell Muffin must be feeling, the dead eyes of the deer that impaled him, the perspective shots that make the world blur... It's all divine. It's the same feeling for me to see the scene with the middle school incident. I'm an avid lurker on Toyhouse, so I've known about it, and honestly never expected to see it in animation. It's so neat to see it put into motion instead of just in my mind! I love how you can tell Muffin loves his brother deeply, from how he tried to cheer him up as a child, to how willing he was to do something very stupid if it meant getting someone he thought was bad for him away, to how much he clearly tries to include him in his adulthood... There's just so much clear love for his brother that it makes what happened even more tragic. I also feel so bad for Latte, imagine assuming your brother would get home safe and sound, only to be woken up in the middle of the night by dozens of calls and texts telling you that he's been in a car accident-- That he's injured bad*. I can only imagine the kind of guilt that would eat at you, what if you'd been there? *Could you have stopped it? And, at the end, I need to say I love the polaroids showing how much the brothers loved each other as little kids. I love seeing Latte as a happy kid (his expressions in these pictures are everything to me, you need to understand), seeing the brothers seemingly happy and care free with no danger lurking around the corner (although, we know that's never been the case) It's also great to see Muffin's interest in taking photos be showcased in a video! As others have been saying, it's so interesting to see bits and pieces of your other videos show up. It's like a puzzle finally slotting together! It makes it fit together all neatly. Oh, and, a final little note... I oddly really really like how Muffin's hair was drawn in this-- Especially the small bits where it's out of its ponytail. It's cute! TL;DR: I can't wait for my Muffin plushie to arrive so he can sit happily with my Latte and Sleepwalk ! Chiffon in my display case.

fluff!! you clearly put so much effort into this, this is the coolest one youve made yet!! im so glad to see some backstory, and im so upset seeing muffin actually getting hurt. this hurts so much gruuuahahh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BUT AMAZING JOB MAN!!!!! THE ANIMATION IS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUSSS THE FACT THIS CONTINUES FROM THE EPOCH!!!!!!!!!!! NAHHH DUDE THIS IS SO FUCKING AMAZINGG!!!

One small detail that I really love about this AMV is-- almost all of, if not ALL of the side and background characters are mammals, birds, and reptiles. There may be one or two anthropomorphic fish from what I can see, but they may very well be reptiles as well. This ties in to Fluff's lore about how "fish people" were only very recent developments into their world, making the vast majority of anthro citizens mammals/birds/reptiles, and causing the fish to be discriminated against. It's just a little bit of environmental storytelling that I thought was neat!

This is absolutely cinematic and emotional. I've been obsessing since Sleepwalk, and now you return with longer and more interesting VMs about these two😭 You did a really good job in 3 months. Keep up the great work!
