I only found Evangelion about a month ago. I binged the 'first' series and felt confused. So I watched 'End of Evangelion' and felt - the need for a good therapist.

At a certain point, I have to assume people mispronounce names intentionally. These names, like Asuka, Evangelion, Longinus, Ritsuko are all pronounced multiple times in the series, and are still pronounced completely wrong.

I love that Hideaki Anno has explicitly stated that the christian themes and imagery were used PURELY for visual effect and that he was NOT trying to make some grander statement.

Considering that a planet was supposed to only have one moon, I wonder what an Angel ecosystem looks like. Considering how different Angels are to Humans/Animals, their ecosystem would probably be different.

A key thing to remember is the themes of self and loneliness in Evangelion; The Angels represent this perfectly, each one of them is a supreme individual, they are all truly unique in form but they have no way to communicate or even acknowledge each other, the closest are ones who need to adapt their forms to go contrary to this.

if you ever wanted to know why the angel's of evangelion have such abstract forms... look at the angels from the old testament, or the torah.. the idea of people with wings and halo, or children with wings is definitely a contemporary misconception. the orphanim or thrones, cherubim and seraphim probably being the direct inspiration.

I wonder what happened to the other seeds of life that didn't go to earth? I wanna know what kind of life they created. I think it would be cool if we got a short series that talked about first ancestral race and the other seeds they dispersed across the universe.

The evas are actually made from adams genetic code which to be fair is stated in end of evangelism to be like 99 percent identical but it’s an important distinction to make. I only bring this up because at the beginning of the video the dude casually mentions that LILITH is where the angels are derived from but it’s not TECHNICALLY true.

I'd personally love an explanation of the different classifications/types of angels and which type said angel would fall under. For example, when Zeruel appears, Ikari and Fuyuytsuki refer to Zeruel as the strongest "Rejection" type angel.

Pacific Rim has that quote of "to fight monsters we created monsters of our own" but the og inspiration actually commits to that idea by repurposing the same type of creature to create biomechanical suits as well has the mental hell these pilots go through making monsters. Man I hope more mecha or kaiju anime in the future go this route, I love Ultraman and Mecha but the design and concept of the Evas and the angels are very unique and groundbreaking.

Bro, reading the wiki will get you most of the way there, but it helps to watch the anime in order to get the pronunciations correct.
