They should have some screenwriters create a miniseries on those Irish ancestors. They could even play parts. It would be amazing.

What an amazing episode. The boys were somber, joking and also hilarious. The banter between them was so precious.
-
This is the double act I didn't know I need

Loved this! Their comraderie in this lifetime, born of their ancestors comraderie in times past. Esoterically beautiful. There are no coincidences.

I really thought they would end up cousins. Jilted a bit there, but their forefathers' working 30 yards apart, likely eating lunch together, and then marching for workers' rights and Irish independence in the very same demonstration did finally knit the two families of these self-described unlikely friends together nicely.

That was a fun style show about genealogy. We are all brothers and sisters in more than one way.
-
Amazing connections, we are all tied together.

This is so entertaining, these two are funny. 😂
-
What a great story, how people and places are connected. Thank you for sharing.

How fortunate for us all that documents are archived and studied and protected by interested parties. A richness to be found in every story, bad or good. ❤

Absolutely LOVED this! Hugh Bonneville and John Bishop are the sweetest friends and what an extraordinary journey and very moving stories.
-
This was very interesting and featured actors from two of the funniest Graham Norton shows.... when a guest asked John Bishop if he could do an English accent.... and Hugh B. with Bill Murray and Matt Damon promoting Monuments Men.

Loved this and their friendship that was meant to be by their family

I absolutely loved this story ❤️

Six Degrees of Separation, also known as “Bacon's Law”, asserts that any two people on Earth are only six or fewer acquaintance links apart. But these two should have met earlier they are a howl together.

Fantastic story!

I have McNeil on my mother's side in the USA. No wonder her people were into music.

Fabulous episode! More please!💖✨ Over here, in NorCal, I’m 3rd or 4th gen Californian-depending on what side of my family we have traced back. However, through DNA we know we come from Irish and Scottish roots (as well as a few others sprinkled in). It seems to me that many of our ancestors were seeking a better life to have us end up where we are. This show made that connection beautifully. Thank you!!

My ancestors came to America from 1623 to 1775, several from England, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Scotland, Sweden, Wales and Ireland. Such a mix and I have more English and Scottish DNA than either of these two. 52% English and 34% Scottish. I've only done US genealogy, but am thinking I need to get the full Ancestry subscription to explore these European countries. I wonder what the UK has for records prior to 1623. Wonderful stories for these two.
