Political Uproar in India After AstraZeneca Admits Blood Clot Side effect | Vantage with Palki Sharma

A political controversy has erupted in India after British pharma giant AstraZeneca admitted in a UK court that its Covid-19 vaccine leads to blood clots in "very rare cases". The company's statement came after 51 lawsuits accused the vaccine of being "defective" and leading to serious injury and death. AstraZeneca's admission led to questions over why the Indian government approved Covishield, which is the Indian version of the company's Covid-19 vaccine. Doctors have said that while the jab does carry minor risks of a blood clot, it far outweighs the health risks from Covid-19 infection. Palki Sharma breaks down this vaccine controversy.

  • Problem in india is that this parties has no love for india except their bank balance
  • @debdhiman614
mind you, politicians are the only class of employees who don't have a job description
  • Why did govt made it compulsory instead of individual personal interest
  • This maybe the reason why my brother died after his booster dose third dose of astrazeneca which I am very much certain. He was very healthy. He left behind 3 young children. How can we file a complaint against the maker?
  • @riddle672
Same set of people did everything they can to oppose covaxin and supported covisheild ..i really felt that opposition parties was trying to push covisheild into India and creating bad name for covaxin ..

In Australia we were demonized, shunned, spat on, avoided and told we were scum but our family held out! Now we've been to 7 funerals in 13 mths and everyone there is talking about the elephant in the room. Some have apologized to us but many still won't even have us in their homes!! I don't feel superior or feeling like saying I told you so because this psyop was geared to make people turn on each other. The whole thing is so so sad and the funerals were tragic.
  • @WeTelecast
Why did he put his photo on certificate & now removed after 2 steps of polling 😂😂😂

I hope now people understand why Indian Docs and ICMR was more confident about Covaxin's safety but due to propaganda against it people mostly went with Covishield. P.S Since there's no dearth of opinions, let me clear few things. As a doctor I was working in the frontline back then, was among the initial few to get the vaccine, our hospital was only providing Covishield so I went to a nearby govt hospital and got Covaxin, clearly knowing it's made by older processes, efficacy could be less but should be safer, later during booster doses, I had to wait hours for few people to turn up so that they could open the vial, clearly public sentiments were against Covaxin with most batches got returned because of no takers. Govt gave a choice, people went ahead with whatever they were comfortable with. Lastly, anything that has effect is bound to have side effect, it's always the risk reward ratio, so no point of outrage now, accept and move on but be informed and seek timely medical help when feel the need.
  • @sm1256
How Covishield is even related to Modi. He backed Covaccine, Its Indian made.
  • When benefits overweighed risks. Only the company benefitted, not the families who lost their dear ones.
  • @cybertube6324
then why modi removed his own photo from vaccine certificate
  • @rvind000
All the anti-Bhārat people who opposed Covaxin by Bhārat Biotech can cope harder now.
  • At the time Vaccines were needed, everyone was running and standing in line to get one, despite the known fact that these things are not thoroughly tested. Now that the situation is over and people survived they will start asking questions. 😆
  • To all non-vaccinated people, well done. I lost my mother, a cousin, and more than a few friends for standing up against the vaccine. I have been vaccinated for every ailment ever since the polio vaccine came out, but I have never needed a vaccine against the flu, and I still don't!!
  • @drsriram167
Election time great news . This is not just Indian vaccine. All the vaccines same problem.
  • People in highly jabbed countries are popping off by the thousands. The MRNA ones are the worst.
  • We're having premature unexplained death causes here in Fiji as well. COD mostly says heart attack, or other NCD ailments. So many things have been hidden from us and people are just dying everyday.
  • Yes and I took 2 doses of covaxin not covisheild. I remember at that time congress made fun of covaxin and eulogised covisheild. Now? This opposition is very manipulative okay
